SHANGAI POWER is in search of a hat-trick of wins, remains in Class 5 and is difficult to ignore in this opening contest. He won his penultimate run under this rider and merits healthy respect. UNIVERSAL CROWN produced a fair last effort despite reportedly having a mouth injury. He shoulders the same weight and will be staying on at the business end.
07.30 Race 2 Class 3 Handicap 1200m

CANTSTOPTHEFEELING was no match for the winner in his last start on this surface but he still finished positively. He should strip much fitter, Badel retains the ride and the pair definitely represent decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. CALIFORNIA CONCORD is the top rating and he finished well up the grandstand last time. He will need to transfer that form onto the All-weather and if doing so, can upset.
08.00 Race 3 Class 4 Handicap 1400m

GOLDEN BOLT shifted at the 200m last time and was only outrun in the latter stages. He placed in his penultimate run under Chau and if overcoming the wide draw, can challenge for top honors. SUNNY DELIGHT is lightly raced and after showing some improvement last time, Moreira has picked up the ride. He is still relatively unexposed with plenty of scope for improvement.
08.30 Race 4 Class 4 Handicap 1200m

FORTUNE HAPPINESS finished runner-up in his comeback effort on the All-weather track. He should strip much fitter and it is encouraging that Moreira has kept faith in the ride. EVERYONE’S VICTORY has placed in his last two outings on the All-weather and stands out on form. He raced wide into the straight last time, got pipped at the wire, and will be looking to make amends.
09.00 Race 5 Class 4 Handicap 1200m

INFINITY WIN has placed in both career attempts thus far. He ran on well last time despite experiencing an awkward start and if relishing the extra furlong on offer, should take a power of beating. STREET SCREAM won with a ton in hand before the break and if returning fresh, should give a good account.
09.35 Race 6 Class 4 Handicap 1400m

SHINING RED shifted at the 700m on debut and finished well up the rail. He should come on nicely with that run under the belt and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be one of the leading contenders. BREEZE OF SPRING finished last season off on a high note when finishing strongly over this distance. He takes on stronger and should be up to the task at hand.
10.05 Race 7 Group 3 1400m
Selections: 3/4/1
SKY DARCI finished runner-up over this distance last time and is the first selection in the main event. He ideally prefers further but from his neat draw he definitely has the ability to bounce back to winning ways. CHAMPION’S WAY brings consistent form into this race. He has drawn a bit wide and may have to settle for another place cheque.
10.35 Race 8 Class 3 Handicap 1200m

PACKING VICTORY is unbeaten from two attempts under Purton and the pair are in search of a hat-trick. The manner in which he won both of his starts suggests there is plenty more to come from this individual and he should be difficult to peg back. IMA SINGLE MAN was no match for the winner in his last start but he brings solid form into this race. Teetan retains the ride and the pair merit respect despite having to shoulder top weight.
11.10 Race 9 Class 3 Handicap 1400m

MALDIVES won his last start before the break under Purton. He generally moves up nicely in his races and if overcoming his wide draw, should give another good account. UNCLE STEVE is better than his last two starts suggest. He raced from far back off the pace last time and got going when the race was over. He has cracked a neat draw and could be one to cause an upset.
11.45 Race 10 Class 2 Handicap 1200m

WINNER METHOD showed signs of needing his comeback run over the minimum trip. He looks fairly handicapped, should strip fitter and can get back to winning ways in the lucky last. NABOO ATTACK is unbeaten from two starts and will be tested with top weight on his back. He is a sort that is still on the upgrade and will be looking to keep his unbeaten record intact.
