RACE 1
GREAT HARVEST ran on nicely from off the pace last time when narrowly beaten over this c&d. The Aussie-bred brings some consistent form into this opening contest and must be respected. ONE STEP AHEAD’S two-month layoff did him the world of good. He stayed on nicely in his comeback run and should strip a much fitter horse. BLAZING PARTNERS finished right behind the top selection last time out. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights and should be right there at the business end.
RACE 2
JOYFUL HEART almost nabbed the speedster Pakistan Friend last time out. He will have to shoulder top weight, is drawn wide but will be looking to get back in the winner’s enclosure. PERFECT TO PLAY found a form return last time out. He may prefer racing at Happy Valley but can confirm his recent improvement. EZRA is held by the top selection on his last start but if bouncing back to his best, can run into the money.
RACE 3
WINNER METHOD is the best bet on the card. He backed up his favourite status in both starts and he will have plenty followers once again. This individual is loaded with ability and will be looking to keep his unbeaten record intact. BRILLANT FORTUNE was just touched off in his last start when almost going from gun to tape. He still has massive scope for improvement and meets the right field today. MCLUCKY brings attractive Australia form. He is drawn pole, makes his Hong Kong debut and could be worth following.
RACE 4
COPARTNER AMBITION ran on from far back on debut when pipped at the wire. The son of Starspangledbanner is clearly on the upgrade and has a bright future. CHEERFUL DAYS had no luck in running last time. That run is arguably best ignored and on his attractive prior form, should have a say. SPEEDY FAY FAY returns from a three-month layoff. He won his last start over this c&d and if returning fit, can run into the money.
RACE 5
UNCLE STEVE has been performing well in this class. He finished runner-up behind a progressive sort last time out and from his neat draw, represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. BEAUTY FIT has won both career starts in Australia. Moreira takes the ride for his local debut, is unexposed and cannot be ignored. GOLDEN LINK shoulders bottom weight. He was narrowly beaten last time and although he meets stronger, could be up to the task at hand.
RACE 6
DRAGON FORTUNE made nice progress in his second outing when getting up towin in the shadow of the post. He has found support in both of his career starts which suggests he is showing good work back at home. FAMILY FOLKS finished 1.4 lengths behind the top selection last time out. He is 3kgs better off at the weights and can turn the tables on his recent conqueror. DIAMOND BRILLIANT gives weight to the rest of the field but from his neat draw, can run into the money.
RACE 7
ZONE D won in fine fashion at only the third time of asking. He is still lightly raced and there is plenty more to come from this individual. MISSION SMART has been beaten by under a length in his last two starts. Moreira takes the ride and he may be able to coax a little extra out of him where it matters most. FORTUNE MASTER finished 1.5 lengths behind the top selection last time out. He is 3kgs better off at the weights but doesn’t have as much scope for improvement.
RACE 8
AUTHENTIC CHAMP is an ultra-consistent sort. He has finished close-up recently and is nearing a third-career triumph. If overcoming his wide barrier, he should take a power of beating. BEAUTY DAY was right behind the top selection last time and from his neat draw, could be the one to cause an upset. HORSESAIN BOLT should be cherry-ripe having his third run after a rest. He has been thereabouts in his last two starts and must be considered.
RACE 9
CHANGCHENG PRINCE made an impressive return to the racetrack after a four-month layoff. He should strip a much fitter horse and can make it quick back-to-back wins. JUNEAU PARK moved up like a winner last time and didn’t quite go on with the effort. He finished 2.75 lengths behind the top selection and is now 3kgs better off at the weights. BIG FORTUNE is much better than his below par last effort. He will benefit from a 3kgs apprentice allowance and can bounce back to his best form.
RACE 10
The South African-bred SEATTLE CHOICE rattled off two victories before his lengthy one-year layoff. He has trialled since and from his inside draw, should make a positive return to the races. PING HAI BRAVO brings impressive form into this race and is in peak condition. He is in search of a hat-trick of wins and runs well for French-ace Hamelin. DUKE WAI finished half a length behind the second selection last time out. He is 2kgs better off at the weights and could turn the tables on his recent conqueror.
