RACE 1

LITTLE THUNDER
got going too late last time out. He brings consistent form into this opening
contest and despite carrying top weight, should take a power of beating. SMART CHARADE placed at Happy Valley
last time out and if confirming that effort, should have a say. DR PROACTIVE stayed on well last time.
He gets Moreira in the saddle who may coax extra out of him where it matters
most.

RACE 2

PING HAI TREASURE
produced a below par last run when beaten 3.5 lengths at the wire. He finished
runner-up in his two outings prior to that effort and on that form is a leading
contender. Apprentice Jerry Chau will be looking to get ELITE PATCH to the front from pole position. Has last win came over
this c&d and he may be difficult to peg back in the closing stages. ALL FOR ST PAUL’S won his last start
well. He takes on stronger but shoulders just 52.5kgs and should be up to the
task at hand.

RACE 3

JADE PHOENIX
impressed in his comeback run when finished runner-up behind Killer Bee. He
should strip a much fitter horse and from his inside barrier, should prove
tough to beat. COLONEL dictated
terms nicely from a wide draw last time and was only outrun in the latter stages.
He will benefit from a 3kgs claiming apprentice and must be in with a shout. HANDSOME REBEL showed signs of needing
his last start after being freshened up for two months. He should make natural
improvement and can run into the money.

RACE 4

DRAGON COMMANDER
won narrowly last time on this course. The French-bred earned his first career
win and although he shoulders 2.5kgs more, he still remains in Class 5. CIRCUIT NUMBER ONE sat on the pace and
stayed on well last time. He should get across from his wide draw without using
too much energy and is worth following up on his last effort. FAIRY FLOSS is in good form. He
followed up his recent win with a fair effort at Happy Valley. Champion jockey
Purton takes the ride and the pair could find themselves in the winner’s
enclosure.

RACE 5

YES WE CAN was
only beaten by half a length in his last outing. He has cracked an inside draw
and if putting his best foot forward, definitely represents decent each-way
value for Hong Kong racing pundits. LADY
FIRST
followed up his second career win with two decent efforts. He is
knocking on the door and should be right there at the business end. DEAL MAKER is a two-time c&d winner
and despite shouldering top weight, must be considered.

RACE 6

HAPPY TANGO loves
racing on the dirt course. He is in good form, has trialled since his last win
and should be in peak condition coming into this contest. MERCURIAL followed up his recent win with a fair effort at Happy
Valley. He is well-drawn and has obvious claims. HAPPILY FRIENDS has stayed on nicely in his last three outings. He
is drawn wide but with even luck in running, can finish in the money.

RACE 7

MAGIC SUPREME
dictated terms positively in his last start when finding a form return. He was
only outrun in the latter stages and may adopt similar tactics today. FLYING ON THE TURF finished 2.5 lengths
behind the top selection last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights and
should finish closer as a result. FORTUNE
HAPPINESS
wasn’t disgraced last time when only beaten by a couple of
lengths at the wire. He looks fairly handicapped, meets the right field and can
run into the money.

RACE 8

MAN STAR, LUCKY FUN and FLYING BONUS renew their recent rivalry. There is not too much
separating them at the weights and the trio are expected to fight out the
finish. GUNNISON loves the dirt
course and drops back to Class 3. He will benefit from a 1.5kgs apprentice
allowance and can bounce back to best form.

RACE 9

CALIFORNIA DEEPSHOT
is a useful sort. He was just pipped by a head last time out and with his light
galloping weight, will be looking to make amends. HONGKONG GREAT backed up his favourite status last time out. The
manner in which he won that day suggests there is plenty more to come from this
individual. RED DESERT was only
beaten 0.6 lengths by the progressive grey Silver Fig last time. He has placed
in his last two outings and should enter the frame in the lucky last.
