Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: SLALOM QUEEN (7)

Jockey: Hewitson L  Trainer: Tarry S

SLALOM QUEEN ran a good race when finishing second in her last start over this C&D. She has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. She is having her peak run this afternoon and should be cherry-ripe. She is the only filly in the race and should give the males a run for their money.

Race 4: JUST JUDY (12)

Jockey: Ferraris L  Trainer: Azzie M G/A A

JUST JUDY showed good improvement in her last start over a mile on the Classic course. She raced from a handy position that day, but was caught in the latter stages. The daughter of Vercingetorix should enjoy the slight drop in distance and can go one better here.

Race 5: WEST COAST LOVER (1)

Jockey: Zackey C  Trainer: Janse van Vuur

WEST COAST LOVER has shown good improvement in his last three starts with the alumites fitted. He set the pace last time, but found one too good in the form of Sound Of Summer. He is having his peak run this afternoon and should be cherry-ripe. He is carded to race on 22 March 2021 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

TOP BET FOR TODAY

Race 6: REUNION (1)

Jockey: Kennedy W  Trainer: Peter P

REUNION was a beaten odds-on favourite last time, but is much better than that effort suggests. He returns from a 12-week break today, during which time he was gelded. The son of Flower Alley looks to have class about him and if not in need of the run, he may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

VALUE BET

Race 8: RAMCHANDANI ROAD (1)

Jockey: Kennedy W – Trainer: Binda C

RAMCHANDANI ROAD has shown signs of a form return in his last two starts after returning from a 17- week break. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish last time was encouraging. The son of Pathfork meets the right field this afternoon and it is encouraging that Warren Kennedy keeps faith in the ride. He should be cherry-ripe and may be the one to side with.
