Magic Tips Best Bets

TOP BET
Race 4: SYLVAN ON FIRE(9)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA – Trainer: Candice DAWSON

SYLVAN ON FIRE
produced two quality efforts on the standside course and she should continue to improve with experience. She found a highly rated sort too good for her over a similar trip second time out but was in turn, exactly three lengths clear of the next placed runner. Unfortunately, that formline hasn’t amounted to much but this daughter of Silvano appears above-average and she could enjoy this tight circuit. She has drawn best of all.

Race 5: FISH RIVER CANYON(5)
Jockey: Ashton ARRIES – Trainer: Gary ALEXANDER

A likely strong gallop will ensure a true result in this first of two apprentice handicaps on today’s card. The in-form FISH RIVER CANYON is c & d suited and she will relish the pace. The daughter of Mullins Bay gets the services of a promising 4kgs claiming apprentice

Race 6: COMME-CI-COMME-CA(2)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA – Trainer: Roy MAGNER

The three-year old COMME-CI-COMME-CA has shown improved recent form in stronger company and her good draw is a major advantage today. She finished just a neck adrift of PAREE over this c & d last time and the pair meet on similar weight terms now. However, the solitary inmate from the Magner yard on this card has scope for further progress and she can turn the tables with in-form Gavin Lerena in the saddle.

Race 8: MR RAMBO(3)

Jockey: Ryan MUNGER – Trainer: Grant MAROUN

MR RAMBO
renews his rivalry with PISTOLERO and in-form entrants could dominate the finish in this final event. The slight preference is for the former though despite the weights indicating otherwise. The four-year old bay gelding has finished close-up in three consecutive starts. Of course, he was exactly three parts of a length ahead of the latter over this c & d behind Call Kelly in his penultim- ate showing but is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights. Still, he runs really well for his improving jockey and the pair could pull this off.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 3: SAMAR(8)

Jockey: Ryan MUNGER  – Trainer: Craig MAYHEW

SAMAR tired late after setting the pace in a competitive field over an extra furlong recently and he can shape over the mile today. The Bezrin gelding is well drawn and is his stable’s only runner on the day.
