Race 1: QUEEN ANNE(3)
Jockey: Piere STRYDOM – Trainer: Paul PETER
QUEEN ANNE seems over her issues and she produced two decent comeback efforts this year, particularly when outrun late into a close 3rd in yielding conditions on the inside circuit a fortnight ago. She set the pace on that occasion and top jockey Strydom retains the ride on the well-bred daughter of Fort Wood who now has her peak showing. She has further improvement to come and should go close from her good draw.
Race 2: EMILY JAY(4)
Jockey: Piere STRDOM – Trainer: Brian WIID
EMILY JAY had an outrageous last performance that could have got her veteran jockey into hot water. She set the pace over 1450m on the inside course and after falling right out of contention in the home straight, the daughter of Jay Peg got going strongly to finish a most creditable 3rd despite her big mass. Admittedly, she takes on considerably stronger fellow three-year-old rivals today but the mile, coupled with the switch to this standside track could make a significant difference. Of course, it is encouraging that ‘Striker’ retains the ride for the in-form Brian Wiid yard.

Race 3: CHEAT THE CHEATERS(1)
Jockey: Jarryd PENNY – Trainer: Dianne STENGER
CHEAT THE CHEATERS is an above-average three-year-old with strong form and he gives every indication that he could develop into a smart stayer. Admittedly, he takes a steep rise in distance today but the son of A P Answer meets an ordinary field and he has most scope. He will love this galloping track and should take a power of beating.
Race 9: RAASMAAL(3)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK
The speedy RASMAAL is quickly making up for lost time, possibly due to injury, and he comes here searching for a hat-trick of wins after a solid last victory at graduation level over a similar trip on this course. The imported colt certainly seems progressive and he should have plenty more to offer. He will be cherry-ripe now and is back facing his own age group.
