Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: CYBER MAGIC(16)
Jockey: Adrew FORTUNE – Trainer: Paul Peter

CYBER MAGIC showed lots of potential as a juvenile last campaign where she acquitted herself well in feature company. However, she may have suffered a setback and returns to action after a 31 week break. That said, the bay filly would have strengthened during the absence and her yard is in great form. It also helps that she gets the expert services of Fortune and the three-year old filly is still the one to beat on her belated seasonal debut. She meets an ordinary line-up with possibly KARIOKE KELLY the main threat.

TOP BET
Race 3: CIDADA(1)
Jockey: Calvin NCGOBO – Trainer: Alex LAIRD

CIDADA is a lightly raced four-year old who is gradually improving with experience. She ran on to finish 2nd best when attempting this distance last time but was in turn well clear of the 3rd placed runner, VOGUE’S WOOD. Furthermore, that formline was given a major boost when her conqueror Smiling Blue Eyes caused a major upset in winning a Grade 3 contest next time out. The imported daughter of Galileo still has further progress to come and she will love this longer run-in.

Race 5: BUSH PILOT(10)
Jockey: Chase MAUJEAN – Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF

BUSH PILOT is still waiting to make his handicap debut after the recent abandoned meeting, coupled with him being withdrawn prior to that. The Judpot gelding showed excellent early potential when he impressively beat his maiden field on the inside course over a mile, second time out. His pedigree indicates that he should love the rise to ten furlongs and the Woodruff inmate does appear to be rather lowly rated. The four-year old gelding will love the longer run-in and he is his yard’s only runner on the card.

Race 6: DAWN FLIGHT(6)
Jockey: Lyle HEWITSON – Trainer: Sean TARRY

DAWN FLIGHT has improved with each of her three comeback runs and the daughter of Elusive Fort is expected to relish today’s rise in distance. She should have no issues in this higher company and could make her presence felt with just 52.5kgs on her back.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 9: CHAMPAGNE HAZE(2)
Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE – Trainer: Gary ALEXANDER

CHAMPAGNE HAZE had two fair comeback runs in stronger company recently and he could be the right one in this highly competitive pinnacle stakes contest. The well-related bay gelding expectedly tired late into 4th in his first run back from the 27 week break and he now meets subsequent winner WILL PAYS (finished runner-up in same event) on 1kgs better terms for that nearly three parts of a length defeat. His good draw is a plus and the finest moment of his career was achieved over this c & d when he thrashed Rabada in the Ready To Run Cup last year.
