Race 2: GEMS A PLENTY(3)
Race 7: BENBOW(5)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Collen THABANA – Trainer: Leon ERASMUS

CROWN BEARER has shown plenty of promise and even contested three feature races in her five starts to date. She earned her three month break after a tough campaign and should be fresh and ready for action. The daughter of Dynasty gets a 4kgs apprentice claim and should be very competitive in this line-up.

Race 2: GEMS A PLENTY(3)
Jockey: Sherman BROWN – Trainer: Leon ERASMUS

This is an intriguing contest but GEMS A PLENTY has the form and gets the verdict. The son of Mogok has finished runner-up in his last three starts over the minimum trip. The form of his last start was franked when the third placed runner beat a moderate line-up, next time out. However, the top rating finished a length and a half in front of WILD THING over this c & d on the run behind subsequent Grade 1 winner, Willow Magic. He should again have the latter’s measure.

Race 7: DUTY DANCE(11) – TOP BET
Jockey: Randall SIMONS – Trainer: Paul MATCHETT

DUTY DANCE appears a smart sort in the making and he has already produced two quality efforts to date. The son of Muhtafal was a fluent winner of his debut over this c & d and then stayed on nicely under a big mass to finish a close third over 1400m on this course, two weeks ago. He reverts to sprinting today and though he takes on much stronger, he gets fitted with blinkers for the first time and should have plenty more improvement to come.

Race 8: TRESCO(4)

Jockey: Sifiso LEMBETHE – Trainer: Sean TARRY

TRESCO is gradually dropping in the ratings and could be reaching her most competitive mark. She ran on again to finish just out of the placings against much stronger over this c & d, two weeks ago and has dropped three pounds in the ratings since. She has won over this c & d and should have more improvement to come.

Race 6: CARNABY STREET(4) (Each Way)
Jockey: Karl ZECHNER – Trainer: Spike LERENA

CARNABY STREET has been campaigning against much stronger and has shown fair form since returning from a lengthy break. He has a decent c & d record and should be very competitive in this line-up. He met a top sort last time and that formline could well be worth following.
