The well-related three-year old colt MAGICAL MOON attracted plenty of betting support on his six furlong debut at the Vaal, three weeks ago. He was understandably green but ran on smartly and only failed to land the gamble by a neck at the line. That experience would have brought the Trippi colt on and his conditioner has wasted little time in stepping him up to a mile. His pole barrier position is a major plus on his track debut and the bay colt should take a power of beating.

The Woodruff yard is well-represented in this intriguing handicap and DEO JUVENTE’s fitness could play a key role in the final outcome. The son of Trippi is ultra-consistent and is c & d suited. He has come nicely through the divisions and probably still just needed his last run over further. The four year old gelding now has his peak run and he should go close from a handy draw.

DOLPHIN has the best credentials in this final event and the engaging of Fortune on the Trippi gelding could make all the difference. The Robbie Sage inmate has finished runner-up in both his come- back runs on this track and will take all the beating. He has the early gate speed to overcome his wide draw.

LOVE TOKEN showed smart ability as a three-year old but she may have suffered a setback after her slightly disappointing last run. She returns from a 27 week absence but drops heavily in class and still has huge improvement to come. Her conditioner usually gets them fit and this daughter of Silvano can go close from a good draw.
