Winning Form Best Bets

Race 3: DANZA(1)
Race 5: MOOTAHADEE(7)
Race 8: TWILIGHT TIGER(2)
Race 9: A P’S LILY(6)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 3: DANZA(1)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY – Trainer: Alec LAIRD

DANZA may have some issues but he has faced stronger opposition than any of today’s runners. He stayed on for a solid 3rd behind the two high-class sorts, Brazuca and Suyoof (runs in today’s feature) over six furlongs last time and has room for progress. He gets the services of a top apprentice and is the horse to beat for his in-form yard.

Race 4: WEDGWOOD(5)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY – Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF

WEDGWOOD has produced some useful runs in her short career but she was moved on too soon when caught late by her stablemate over this distance on the inside track, four weeks ago. She now has her peak run and is expected to improve further. The daughter of Querari needs to be ridden with restraint on the standside track but she is progressive and is again the horse to beat.

TOP BET
Race 5: BOUCLETTE TOP(1)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA  – Trainer: Alec LAIRD

BOUCLETTE TOP surprisingly didn’t take his place in the Summer Cup last week and his conditioner has probably mapped a different plan for the talented five-year-old gelding. The son of Giant’s Causeway was an impressive winner of a Grade 2 event over a mile last time and he is extremely well in at the weights in this pinnacle stakes affair. He is versatile and should take some beating over this slightly shorter trip. His yard’s good run of form is an obvious boost.

Race 8: TIGER’S TOUCH(5)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA – Trainer: Sean TARRY

TIGER’S TOUCH is a smart type who caught the eye when she ran on strongly for 3rd behind EMBRASIATIC over six furlongs in her comeback run at the Vaal, four weeks ago. She was beaten just under two lengths at the line but will strip fitter and is now 2kgs to the good. The Sean Tarry inmate has huge scope for improvement and she merits healthy respect.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 7: SUPER GLUE(9)

Jockey: Francois HERHOLT – Trainer: Robbie SAGE

The lightly raced four-year-old SUPER GLUE has his issues but his two comeback runs after a long break have been pleasing. He ran on again for a good 3rd over nine furlongs on the inside course last time and will be cherry-ripe. That effort suggested that the son of Ideal World will relish this extra furlong and he has more to offer. He has a handy galloping mass and should love this longer run-in.
