Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: OUTSHINE(2)
Jockey: Craig ZACKEY – Trainer: Tyrone ZACKEY

OUTSHINE
is improving quickly and he performed creditably when 4th in a Grade 1 over this c & d, four weeks ago. He should continue to progress and is clearly the one to beat as he drops in class today.

Race 2: LAST CHIRP(1)
Jockey: Piere STRYDOM – Trainer: St JOHN GRAY

LAST CHIRP
is a gutsy sort who is improving smartly and she kept on strongly for a good 3rd in her post maiden run over the minimum trip, two weeks ago. Her maiden victory in her penultimate attempt proves that she has no issues with this extra furlong and the daughter of Announce has more to come. She gets the services of Strydom.

Top Bet
Race 4: NAVETTE(2)
Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Joe SOMA

NAVETTE
clearly relished the rise in distance as she produced her career best run when making steady progress for 3rd over ten furlongs on the inside course, five weeks ago. She looks set to relish this longer run-in and the lightly raced daughter of Tiger Ridge could benefit greatly from being equipped with blinkers. She should progress further and gets the nod in an ordinary contest.

Race 7: GRADUATION DAY(8)

Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Joe SOMA

GRADUATION DAY
probably needed his comeback run in a Grade 1 contest recently but he will strip fitter and could have a big say at this level. The lightly raced five-year old has shown lots of class to date and he runs very well for Marcus. His c & d record is solid and he should give a very good account of himself.
VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 9: MOVIE AWARD(5)
Jockey: Calvin NCGOBO – Trainer: Chris ERASMUS

The three-year old MOVIE AWARD had a fair first experience on the Vaal Classic Track after being drawn poorly, ten days ago. She moved up well before tiring late over the mile that day and will prefer this slight drop in distance. The daughter of Dupont was an impressive winner of a similar contest over this trip three starts ago and she runs well for this 2.5kgs claiming apprentice.
