Magic Tips Best Bets

Top Bet

Race 2: MYTHICAL MAGIC(10)
Jockey: Raymond DANIELSON – Trainer: Sean TARRY

MYTHICAL MAGIC has shown useful ability in her two runs to date and she has cracked a midfield draw today. She sprinted well on this track on debut and then wasn’t disgraced, albeit comfortably beaten by a highly regarded sort, second time out. The daughter of Silvano has obvious improvement in her and she now faces her own sex. This extra furlong is within her range and she merits healthy respect.

Race 5: CAYMEN SUNSET(1)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA – Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF

CAYMEN SUNSET is above-average and is a lightly raced four-year-old gelding who hails from the red-hot Geoff Woodruff yard. He may have some niggles though but has plenty more to offer. The son of Miesque’s Approval is versatile, having won over ten furlongs in the maidens and then over a mile at this level last time out. He clearly has an affection for the long run-in but meets an ordinary field, racing fresh and could still be really competitive here. His good draw is a major plus and his track experience will stand him in good stead.

Race 6: CHEPARDO(4)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY – Trainer: Alec LAIRD

CHEPARDO landed the huge betting coup over a similar trip on the standside track on debut, three weeks ago. The four-year-old Trippi gelding is obviously above-average and he quickened smartly to win going away on that occasion. He rises in class on his handicap debut but has plenty more to offer and must be followed.

Race 8: SOUL OF SPAIN(5)
Jockey: S’managa KHUMALO – Trainer:  Sean TARRY

This is an ordinary low-key fillies and mares handicap and some caution is advised. There was plenty to admire about the three-year-old SOUL OF SPAIN’s maiden victory over six furlongs on this track, four weeks ago. The daughter of Toreador was slow into stride but she quickened really smartly to beat a well-bred sort. The Sean Tarry inmate was given a hefty penalty but she clearly has lots more to offer and now has her third run after a break. She should enjoy this rise in distance and can stake another serious claim.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 9: KING GERARD(1)
Jockey: Chase MAUJEAN – Trainer: Grant MAROUN

KING GERARD disappointed down the straight last time but he is an entirely different proposition around the bend and he had some useful comeback form after that lengthy absence. The son of Rebel King stayed on nicely for 3rd on the standside track over seven furlongs in his penultimate run and he should bounce back to form here.
