Magic Tips Best Bets
Race 4: MIKE’S CHICK (1)
Jockey: De Melo K – Trainer: De Kock M
MIKE’S CHICK has been disappointing in her last two starts on the Standside course. She is unbeaten from two starts on this course. The daughter of Vercingetorix is bred to enjoy the 2000m and on best form shown, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
Race 6: SUPREME DANCE (2)
Jockey: Lerena G – Trainer: Warren B
SUPREME DANCE has good consistent form lines to his credit. He raced from a handy position over 2000m last time, moved up well but was caught in the shadow of the post. He won his penultimate run over this distance in impressive fashion. The son of Futura makes his course debut and if suited to the track, he should be the one to beat.
Top Bet For Today
Race 7: ARAGOSTA (1)
Jockey: Fourie R – Trainer: De Kock M
ARAGOSTA ran a good race when finishing third in the Grade 2 Dingaans last time. He raced from a prominent position and stayed on nicely at the finish. His penultimate effort when winning over this distance was impressive. The son of Rafeef has plenty of class and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he should take a power of beating.
Race 8: THEORY OF FLIGHT (2)
Jockey: Khumalo S – Trainer: Botes B/Vosloo
THEORY OF FLIGHT won a good race in his last start over 1500m at the Vaal. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Pathfork runs well for jockey S’manga Khumalo and from his good draw of two, he can notch up his fifth career victory.
Value Bet For Today
Race 9: CASTLE CORNER (5)
Jockey: Mxoli P – Trainer: Pettigrew S
CASTLE CORNER showed signs of needing his comeback run over 1400m at the Vaal last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He has won twice and finished second twice from as many starts over this distance. The son of Ideal World will strip a much fitter horse today and with 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Philasande Mxoli in the saddle, he may be the one to side with.
