Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: MARIGOLD HOTEL (2)
Jockey: Hewitson L – Trainer: Tarry S

MARIGOLD HOTEL followed up her debut win with a good second-place finish over 1200m at the Vaal. She raced from just off the pace, but found one too good in the form of Kwazzi’s Lady. The daughter of Querari should enjoy the step up to the mile. She looks to have ability and can return to winning ways.

Race 2: RAIN IN HOLLAND (7)
Jockey: Hewitson L – Trainer: Tarry S

RAIN IN HOLLAND won a good race in her last start over 1400m on the Standside course. Despite hanging in the latter stages, she showed good guts and held on where it matters most. It must be noted that Look Yourself has come out and won since. The daughter of Duke Of Marmalade should have no issues with the mile and should give the males a run for their money.

Race 4: CARTEL BOSS (8)
Jockey: Lerena G – Trainer: Janse van Vuuren

CARTEL BOSS produced a promising debut effort over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He understandably raced green that day, but stayed on nicely at the finish. The son of Oratorio would have gained from the experience and will enjoy the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating.

Race 5: GLOBAL PLAYER (6)
Jockey: Kennedy W – Trainer: Peter P

GLOBAL PLAYER showed very good improvement in his last start over a mile at the Vaal. He set the pace that day, but was caught in the shadow of the post. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The son of Global View looks to be a progressive type and should go one better here.

Race 7: MARYGOLD (2)
Jockey: Khumalo S – Trainer: Laird A

MARYGOLD is much better than her last three starts suggest. She has won twice and finished third once from six starts over this distance. She finished third in her only attempt on this course. The daughter of Flower Alley gets fitted with the tongue-tie and if the equipment has the desired effect, she can return to winning ways.
