The daughter of Great Britain ran on smartly for 2nd that day and she would have come on with that outing. The extra furlong will be right up her alley and she is the one to beat with Gavin Lerena retaining the ride.

MUJALLAD went off at restricted odds when he was narrowly defeated on debut over this c & d, three weeks ago. The imported grey colt showed good speed and was pegged back late by an experienced sort. He finished well clear of the 3rd placed entrant WHORLY WHORLY and should have plenty of progress to come.
Race 3: TOGETHER FOREVER(1)
Jockey: Sherman BROWN – Trainer: Stuart PETTIGREW
TOGETHER FOREVER is much better than his recent form indicates and his conditioner has had little option but to geld the son of Antonius Pius. The four-year-old jumps from pole position and he can stake a huge claim in this ordinary contest if repeating his smart penultimate run over the mile on this track. He jumps from the best draw and it must be noted that his yard had two winners at the Vaal last Thursday.
Race 8: STARCRAFT PRINCE(13)
Jockey: Muzi YENI – Trainer: Candice DAWSON
STARCRAFT PRINCE represents an in-form yard and the former KZN resident has performed well in both his starts on the Highveld. He was running on for 4th over this c & d in his comeback run in stronger company recently. Interestingly, he finished just a neck behind Mission Control that day & the latter takes his place in a strong field in the previous event on today’s card. His progress there must be monitored. Top jockey Muzi Yeni retains the ride on the stable’s only entrant on the card.

There are some top quality three-year-olds in this progress plate and an exciting finish is expected. The official merit ratings indicate that CHILI CON CARNE has his work cut-out to win this event but the bay gelding could be better than his rating, at least over this distance that is. Interestingly, he won a feature over this c & d when equipped with blinkers in his penultimate outing and today’s main rival, DOOSRA, recorded a slightly slower time over the same track & trip a couple of hours later. The top selection represents an in-form yard and he can cause the upset with ‘Striker’ in the saddle.
