Winning Form Best Bets

Race 1: LIGHT INDIGO(10)
Race 2: AMSTERDAM(1)
Race 3: PRINCE OF WAR(3)
Race 4: ROSE OF SOWETO(1)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: NEGROAMARO(4)
Jockey: Randalll SIMONS – Trainer: Johan JANSE VAN VUUREN

NEGROAMARO
continues to be costly to follow but the very classy grey filly takes her place in another contest that is tailor-made for her at the weights. Of course she takes on male rivals now but is supremely well treated on official ratings and she should be a major force. The daughter of Fort Wood has smart form on this track and the trip is no concern.

Race 3: UNCHAINED MELODY(8)
Jockey: Lyle HEWITSON – Trainer: Paul PETER

UNCHAINED MELODY
showed pace when he weakened late over 1160m on the standside track in soft going second time out but this minimum trip should suit him perfectly. He went close over this distance on debut at the Vaal prior to that and is well drawn on his track debut. The Paul Peter inmate should quickly bounce back to form.

Race 5: KAHAL’S LEGACY(3)
Jockey: Muzi YENI – Trainer: Tyrone ZACKEY

KAHAL’S LEGACY
faded late in his poor last run over shorter but his short but effective burst of speed is certainly conducive to this tight inner circuit. In fact, the son of Kahal finished well for 2nd over nine furlongs in his only effort on this course three runs back and the 3rd placed runner of that outing, Fantasy View boosted the formline with a subsequent victory. Top jockey Yeni knows him well and the pair should quickly get back to form.

TOP BET
Race 7: TOP SHOT(1)

Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE – Trainer: Gary ALEXANDER

TOP SHOT
produced a gutsy last display when he held off subsequent feature winner Irish Pride to win a Pinnacle Stakes over this distance on the standside course after setting the tempo. He was expectedly penalized the maximum six pounds for his endeavours but seemed to prefer racing without blinkers and of course, he has a distinct affinity for this tight circuit. The five-year old chestnut gelding is drawn best of all and he should go close despite top weight in this handicap company.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 8: PATRIC(7)

Jockey: Chase MAUJEAN – Trainer: Devin LITTLE

PATRIC
is better than his below-par last run over ten furlongs and his conditioner’s decision to quickly drop the gelding in trip could pay dividends today. The son of Silvano had useful post maiden form up to nine furlongs prior to that, including a close 2nd behind subsequent winner Ilitshe earlier this year. The four-year old has finally cracked a good draw and he holds a smart c & d record. He should go very well in this line-up.
