His best bets on the undercard for Goodwood are:

Day 2 Undercard – Best Bets

(Each Way)
Race 2 – No 7 SEVERANCE
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: Callum Shepherd

The hooded front runner SEVERANCE got the better of his jockey in the Group 3 Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket when galloping a distance clear and emptying the tank so that he was exhausted with nothing left at the finish. If Shepherd can get the colt anchored and preserve his energy, the combination might be hard to catch over this shorter trip. They have a perfect draw from which to attain the lead in this return to handicapping.

(Nap)
Race 3 – No 13 LIBERTY BEACH
Trainer: John Quinn
Jockey: Jason Hart

LIBERTY BEACH will be a warm order for this Molecomb Stakes and brings an impressive profile to the table, her only defeat in four starts being when she finished a creditable fourth in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot. She receives 6lb from unbeaten American Challenger Maven and will be hard to stop as she’s delighted connections since her latest win at Sandown.

(Each Way)
Race 7 – No 16 LYNDON B
Trainer: George Scott
Jockey: Frankie Dettori

The jockey booking tells you all you need to know about LYNDON B whose confidence is on a high after a decisive first career success at Leicester where he beat Silkstone two lengths. The combination have the perfect draw four off the rail from which to gain a handy position, and in a handicap with four places have a bright chance of earning.

Leicester Best Bets

Neil Morrice brings you his Best Bets for the turf action from Leicester on Wednesday, July 31.

Race 2 – No 6 CRYSTAL TIARA
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: Gerald Mosse

Although yet to trouble the judge for her trainer CRYSTAL TIARA takes a class drop and has a better chance than the one that first meets the eye. She stayed on quietly at the end of her latest outing at Epsom to be beaten just under 11 lengths by Blame It On Sally and though the form has been devalued she can get into this tackling a shorter trip.

Race 4 – No 8 DARK REGARD
Trainer: Mark Johnston
Jockey: Jason Hart

DARK REGARD shaped well on her debut at Hamilton to chase home the well regarded Byline. She briefly looked like giving her more experienced rival a race, only for lack of a previous run counting against her in the final furlong. She’s learned plenty and will be hard to beat getting 5lb from the colts.

Perth Best Bets

Neil Morrice brings you his Best Bets for the jumping action from Perth on Wednesday, July 31

Race 1 – No 4 INDIAN TEMPLE
Trainer: Tim Reed
Jockey: Harry Reed

Having done us two good turns INDIAN TEMPLE is worth sticking with as he reverts to hurdling for his hat-trick bid. The ten-year-old has adopted customary forcing tactics for those successes and can again go from tape to line to thwart Braid Blue.

Race 6  – No 6 GAME LINE
Trainer: Christian Williams
Jockey: James Bowen

Having decisively opened his seasonal account at Stratford, GAME LINE is the only recent winner in the field and can follow-up. He steps up in trip but was certainly not stopping for his win and should enjoy this bigger test.
