Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 3: THE FIFTH WAVE (1)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA  Trainer: Roy MAGNER

THE FIFTH WAVE ran a fair race in a feature last time. She was her own worst enemy that day as she lost two lengths at the start. She has won twice, finished second twice and third once from ten starts over this distance. The daughter of Crusade takes a drop in class today and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle, she may be the one to side with.

Race 5: WINTER SMOKE (3)
Jockey: Lyle HEWITSON  Trainer: Ashley FORTUNE

WINTER SMOKE was ultra-impressive when winning her last start on KZN Breeders Raceday. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Lyle Hewitson who was aboard the daughter of What A Winter when she won on debut steps back into the saddle. She looks to be loaded with ability and should notch up her third career victory.

TOP BET FOR TODAY
Race 6: DANCE CLASS (2)
Jockey: Sherman BROWN  Trainer: St John GRAY

DANCE CLASS is unbeaten in her last six starts. She handled the rise to the 2600m well last time and won a lot easier than the official margin suggests. The daughter of Modus Vivendi seems to be getting better each time she takes to the course and should notch up her seventh career win. Sherman Brown takes the ride once again and it is his only mount on the day.

Race 8: NAFOORAH (7)

Jockey: Callan MURRAY  Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

NAFOORAH ran a very good race when taking on a competitive field last time. He raced from a handy position that day and found another kick in the latter stages. The son of Soft Falling Rain will enjoy the step up to the nine furlongs and with just 52kgs on his back, he should take a power of beating.

VALUE BET

Race 4: BRIDGE OF SPIES (4)
Jockey: Jabu JACOBS – Trainer: Clinton BINDA

BRIDGE OF SPIES finished 0.75 lengths behind MR HUGO in his last start. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has finished second once and third once from three starts over this C&D. The son of Great Britain should be cherry-ripe today and can get back to winning ways.
