MARIGOLD HOTEL was an easy winner on debut over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. Despite hanging in the latter stages, she won with a ton in hand. The daughter of Querari would have gained from the experience. She could be anything and should remain unbeaten.
Race 3: AMBERGLO STAR (1)
Jockey: Lerena G – Trainer: Gray St John D
This is a weak Maiden Plate for the girls. AMBERGLO STAR is still a maiden after 24 starts, but has some decent recent form to her credit. She found one too good in the form of Southern Song last time. In this line-up, she should shed her maiden tag.
Race 4: DON’T LOOK BACK(5)
Jockey: Khumalo S – Trainer: Gray St John D
DON’T LOOK BACK was not disgraced when finishing third in the Listed Aquanaut Handicap last time. He lost a length at the start that day, but stayed on nicely at the finish. He is unbeaten from two starts on this course and will be looking to keep that record intact.
Race 5: MASTER AND MAN (3)
Jockey: Lerena G – Trainer: Alexander G
MASTER AND MAN showed very good signs of a form return in his last start over this C&D. He raced from a handy position and tried hard all the way to the line. It must be noted that the form of that race has worked out well. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this distance. He jumps from pole position and may be the one to side with.

JAM FANCY took on much stronger in her last start over this C&D. Her penultimate effort when finishing fourth against males catches the eye. She takes a drop in class this afternoon and can get back to winning ways.
