Winning Form Best Bets
Race 2: BEAUTIFUL BELLA(1)
Race 3: REBEL POSE(8)
Race 4: DA MOONSTA(3)
Race 7: GABRONZA(4)
Race 1: GREYSTONE(1)
Jockey: !Semela F – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK
A moderate workrider’s opening contest but GREYSTONE won’t get an easier chance to exit the maiden ranks. Admittedly, he is an average sort but he is much better than his last poor performance on the sand. His previous form shows just that and he was runner-up in consecutive efforts over this c & d, a few starts ago. He gets the services of a top workrider and merits healthy respect.
Race 2: ENCHANTED SILK(12) – TOP BET
Jockey: S’Manga KHUMALO – Trainer: Sean TARRY
ENCHANTED SILK has continued improving and she was desperately unlucky not to have won her last start over 1450m on the inside course. The third placed runner franked that form by beating older rivals next time out. This daughter of Kahal has the experience of racing on this track and should go very close here.
Race 4: DANCE CLUB(1)
Jockey: Marthinus MIENIE – Trainer: Stanley FERREIRA
DANCE CLUB has shown much improved form in his last two starts over the minimum trip. He ran on for fourth behind a highly regarded sort last time and should enjoy this extra furlong. He meets a similar field and should stake a serious claim with Mienie up.
Race 8: EGYPTIAN(3)
The St John Gray yard could dominate this contest but the lesser fancied, EGYPTIAN could be the right one. The son of Sarge needed his comeback run badly after a 14 week break and will strip much fitter today. He wasn’t beaten far that day but had some nice form before the break against much stronger. He has a decent record over this c & d and should be competitive here.
VALUE BET FOR TODAY:
Race 6: STAVINSKY(9) (Each Way)
Jockey: Louis NHLAPO – Trainer: Leon ERASMUS
There should be lots of speed in this contest and that will suit STAVINSKY right down to the ground. The son of Stage Call is seldom beaten far and often gets going too late in his races. However, he has won over the minimum trip and is gradually dropping in the ratings. He has a handy galloping mass of 53.5kgs and could represent some good each/way value in this contest.
