INDIGO WINTER produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on this course. She was slow into stride, green and reported to be blowing post race. The daughter of What A Winter would have gained from the experience and should love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the one to beat. She is carded to race on 15 August 2021 and her progress in that race will need to be checked.

MANTERIO has finished second in his last three starts. The son of Oratorio makes his debut for the Ashley Fortune stable. He gets the services of strong rider S’manga Khumalo who may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
