Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: WHEEL OF TIME(10)

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

The Silver God formline has already worked out well with 6th placed entrant Mambo Symphony running on smartly for 3rd against winners subsequently. The Tapit colt WHEEL OF TIME was fancied when he ran on in eye-catching fashion for a close 3rd on debut in the above-mentioned event and should make heaps of improvement today.

TOP BET
Race 3: CULTURE QUEEN(2)

Jockey: Randall SIMONS- Trainer: Johan Janse V/VUUREN

Just seven really moderate staying maidens head to post for this intriguing contest where the imported filly CULTURE QUEEN is a standout. The yard’s only runner today got going late to finish just under three lengths adrift of subsequent winner Barbados Cruise over this c & d four weeks ago. The pace may again be pedestrian today but her quick thinking conditioner importantly equips her with blinkers and the daughter of High Chaparral should take a power of beating. She is the stable’s only entrant today.

Race 4: DALLEY(7)

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Lucky HOUDALAKIS

The in-form DALLEY acquitted herself quite well in a blanket finish won by the gutsy SHANKLY GATES over a trip far short of her best recently and she should easily reverse the formline with the latter. The proven stayer is only slightly out at the weights today and should produce another bold showing.

Race 6: SHOGUN(1)

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Ormond FERRARIS

A sedate gallop is expected in this moderate handicap and that will certainly help the top rating SHOGUN who possibly had a tough comeback run after a 22-week absence. That effort was his local debut and he tried hard to reel in the above-average three-year-old Seventh Of June (unplaced since). He stayed on for a most creditable 2nd and will certainly strip fitter this time around. The Dynasty gelding was raised two pounds but is still a lightly raced four-year-old who could have a decent career on the Highveld.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:
Race 5: LOCK HIM UP(10)
Jockey: Juan-Paul v.d.MERWE – Trainer: Scott KENNY

The Duzi Moon formline may hold the key to the outcome of this very competitive lowly merit rated handicap where LOCK HIM UP and TENDRE are expected to fight out the finish. The pair were separated by just a neck in favour of the former who was making late progress on the tight inside circuit at Turffontein nine days ago. He is 1kg worse off but holds a creditable c & d record and could still confirm the form.
