Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: MANX PARK(1)
Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE – Trainer: Clinton BINDA

MANX PARK
fluffed his lines badly in strong company last time but he will certainly prefer facing today’s opposition. In fact, the Clinton Binda inmate beat a few of today’s rivals over this c & d in his penultimate run and he can quickly make amends here.

Race 3: RIPARIAN(2)

Jockey: Callan MURRAY – Trainer: GK ANTHONY

The lightly raced five-year-old RIPARIAN relished being equipped with blinkers as he posted a career-best effort over a mile, four weeks ago. He had some issues that day but still fought on doggedly when beaten a neck into 2nd by a highly regarded sort. The son of Mullins Bay was only a further neck in front of the long-time battling maiden UPOSEUPAY but he is having just the fourth run of his career and promises plenty of progress. He is his conditioner’s only entrant on this card.

Race 4: WALL OF ICE(3)

Jockey: Juan-Paul VAN DER MERVE – Trainer: St John GRAY

This is a very ordinary staying maiden contest but the Tiki Torch formline on 24/07 over 2600m could be worth following. WALL OF ICE has solid credentials and he fought back hard when going down narrowly in the event referred to above. It was probably a case of racing too soon when he flopped badly over ten furlongs six days later but the long-time maiden deserved his three-week break. He is better than his track record suggests and could be the right one.

Top Bet
Race 5: NEGROAMARO(1)

Jockey: Randall SIMONS – Trainer: Johan JANSE VAN VUUREN

The top class NEGROAMARO surprisingly failed to achieve a victory this year but she remained ultra consistent in those five consecutive feature efforts. The versatile daughter of Fort Wood proved to be just off the best of her generation but she is entitled to have strengthened during a well-deserved rest. Her conditioner is obviously preparing her for the summer campaign but she is extremely well weighted on official ratings today and should take a power of beating. She has experience on this track.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 7: NITROGEN(6)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY – Trainer: Alec LAIRD

NITROGEN
showed pace but still didn’t seem to enjoy the blinkers in her last start and hardly surprisingly, her conditioner has removed the headgear today. The well-bred daughter of Tiger Ridge has struggled to regain her promising earlier form but sprinting could be her forte’ and she continues to drop in the merit ratings. She posted one solid c & d effort behind BALLY SWISS (8kgs worse off) and still has good scope for improvement. The chestnut filly is her yard’s only representative on this card.
