Winning Form Punters’ Challenge Tips: Hollywoodbets Greyville – 3 February 2021

Winning Form share all of their tips and picks for the Wednesday meeting taking place at Hollywoodbets Greyville. Remember there is a MASSIVE R1 225 000 up for grabs if you can tip the whole card!

Race 1

ALWAYSONMYMIND has shown good improvement in her last two starts with the blinkers fitted. She showed good speed in both those efforts and stayed on at the finish. The daughter of What A Winter is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. If suited to the polytrack, she should shed her maiden tag. 

GOOD GIRL produced a typical second run after a rest last time. Her penultimate run when finishing second over 1100m was good. She too, is having her peak run today and from pole position, merits healthy respect. 

DUCHESSOFCORNWALL was not disgraced when finishing fourth against males last time. She is back against her own sex today and may be hard to peg back. She is carded to race on 01 February 2021 and her progress in that race will need to be checked.

Race 2

MATADORA’S PARADE finished 2.4 lengths behind HER ROYAL MAJESTY last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won once and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. Raymond Danielson retains the ride and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure. 

NOEMI was running on too late when finishing third against males last time. She is back against her own sex today and if not too far out of her ground in the early stages, she should go close. 

HER ROYAL MAJESTY won a good race over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. She showed good speed that day and kept finding all the way to the line. If repeating that effort, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 3

This is a weak Maiden Plate and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is CRUSADE’S STAR from the Lowan Denysschen yard. He showed good improvement when finishing fourth over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He raced from just off the pace that day and stayed on at the finish. He jumps from a good draw today and may be the one to side with. 

MURPHY’S STATION’S last two starts over 1400m have been decent. He set the pace in both those efforts, but did not go on with his effort. The drop in trip will suit him well and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

DEORSA was in need of his comeback run over this C&D. His penultimate run when finishing fifth in the Gatecrasher Stakes was encouraging. He should strip fitter and can improve in this type of field.

Race 4

TUPELO HONEY has finished runner-up in her last two starts. She finished 1.7 lengths behind WISHFUL GIRL LINN in her penultimate effort and is 1.5kgs better off at the weights. She is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. With a bit of luck from her wide draw, she can get back to winning ways. 

WISHFUL GIRL LINN won a good race in her last start over this C&D. She cast a shoe in running that day which makes the effort that much more encouraging. She jumps from pole position and can follow up. 

PASSIVITY took on stronger in her last start over 1400m on this course. She won a good race in her penultimate effort despite racing wide around the turn. She tries the mile for the first time and if seeing out the extra furlong on offer, she can feature. 

Race 5

GURU’S PRIDE caught the eye when running on to finish fifth over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He loves this C&D with a record of two wins from three starts. The blinkers get removed for this outing and with Warren Kennedy back in the saddle, he should get back to winning ways. 

MOUNT ANDERSON was given a peach of a ride when winning the Listed Christmas Handicap. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won three times, finished second once and third twice from seven starts on this course. From pole position, he merits healthy respect. 

CALIENTE finished 0.65 lengths behind TRIP TO AFRICA last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. 

Race 6

ACK OF HEARTS was given an interesting ride in his last start over 2200m on the turf. His form prior to that outing was good. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from five starts over this C&D. He gets the services of a 4kgs claiming apprentice which should help his cause. He jumps from pole position and may be hard to beat. 

FAVOUR should have finished much closer in his last start as he had to ease at the 350m mark. He has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck in running, he should pose a threat. 

RUN TO DENMARK has good consistent form lines to his credit. He won his only attempt over this C&D. He likes to race up with the pace and will be staying on. 

Race 7 

QUATTRO PASSI makes his local debut and brings very good Gauteng form with him. He set the pace last time, but found one too good in the form of Eagle Alley. He should have his own way in front today and if suited to the Polytrack, he should be hard to peg back. 

RALPH THE RASCAL has finished third in his last two starts over this distance on the turf. He gets the blinkers fitted this afternoon which should keep his mind on the task at hand. The son of Gimmethegreenlight will be staying on in the run down to the line. 

CHATTERTONS KEEPER should have won last time, but he was bumped at the 200m mark. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but should use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy. 

Race 8

This is a competitive MR 75 Handicap for the girls and caution is advised. The narrow first selection is MEET AT THE GEORGE from the Dean Kannemeyer stable. Her last two starts against stronger company have been decent. The daughter of Vercingetorix takes a drop in class today and will be mowing down the frontrunners in the run down to the line. 

SOMEONE EXCITING has decent recent form to her credit. She stayed on well to finish third over 1200m on the turf last time. Her record on this course is a slight concern, but she is in a good space and cannot be ignored. 

CHANTY LANE was her own worst enemy last time as she overraced in the early stages. She returns from a 15-week break, which may have done her the world of good. She won her maiden over this C&D and if not in need of the run, she should feature.
