Race 2.
WINDSTORM has consistent formlines to his credit and won last time out over 1300M. He gets to start from a handy four draw, and looks hard to oppose here. MILITARY RULER finished two lengths back last time out over seven furlongs when returning from a year’s break. He is drawn one outside the top pick and if not in need of one more run, he could threaten the former. NELSON’S FLIGHT has cracked pole position and finished second in his last start over 1300M despite being friendless in the betting market. He needs to be considered here.
Race 6.
COSTA DEL SANTO followed up his penultimate victory over this c&d with a second-place finish over seven furlongs, just 1.5L behind the winner. He has a wideish draw of nine, but he should be right up there when they hit the line. SUBLIME IMAGE is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she missed out on completing her hat-trick last time out when dropping down to seven furlongs and returning after a 30 week rest. Her previous victories had been posted over the mile and from gate four, she looks the immediate danger to the former. SENTIMENTAL GIFT is also a 4yr filly. She returns from a 25 week rest, but has had the benefit of three barrier trials, winning the last two. If not finding this distance on the sharp side, she should be involved in the finish here.
Race 7.
ESSENTIAL SPICE is a 4yr old filly taking on males and has her first run since a 23 week break, but she has had the benefit of a barrier trial to prove her fitness. She has finished third in her last two runs over five furlongs and was unfortunately struck on the nose in her last outing. She has pulled pole position and could be the one to side with here. GUNS OF NAVARONE has solid five-furlong form and won his penultimate start, followed by a head defeat next time out. He looks to be the biggest threat to the top choice. SARACINO returns from a 21 week break and has good form over the longer six furlongs. He has a wide draw to negotiate, but he should use his early gate speed to move across without using up too much energy.
Race 8.
DEVOTED STAR is a 4yr old filly taking on males and returns from a 15 week rest, but she is seldom far off the action. She put in an encouraging barrier trial and although drawn the widest of them all, she should be picking off the frontrunners in the closing stages of the race. ENDOVANERA is a 3yr old filly who won over the c&d last time out when returning from a 22 week break. She is drawn in gate nine, but should be a factor today. SECRET ASSAULT improved when staying on last time out over five furlongs and if able to confirm that effort here, he should be respected.
Race 9.
ROMAN FLIRT is a 4yr old filly who has won her last four starts, the latest two over ten furlongs. She should not have any issue with the step up in distance and could complete the rare five wins on the trot. DIVINE SHADOW has consistent form and finished third last time out over the ten furlongs. He is drawn the widest of the lot, which won’t make his life easy, but he is expected to turn in another honest performance here. DARK CHOICE finished 1.3L behind the latter in the race mentioned above, but is 0.5kgs better off at today’s weights. He has a much kinder draw of four and there should not be much separating the pair when they reach the finishing post.

BATTLE PLANE missed out on winning four on the trot when finishing second last time out over 1666M. He stayed on well that day suggesting that the step up to nine furlongs should not be an issue. From his handy two gate, he is taken to be the best bet on today’s card. Although BERING SEA ended up sixth last time out over a mile, he was only 1.5L behind the winner. He jumps from draw five and could be the immediate danger to the top choice. BLUE COMET has cracked pole position and was staying on last time out when third over 1640M. He should be involved in the finish here.
Race 8.
GENZAI THE WOLF has consistent formlines to his credit and was making good late progress when finishing second last time out over six furlongs. He has a wide draw to negotiate, but he should be doing his best work late. TAVIS TOWN won over seven furlongs on debut. He has drawn gate eleven, but with the natural improvement that can be expected, he could prove good enough to record his double here. JAKAMA has his second run after returning from a 19 week rest, but his comeback effort was encouraging and if not in need of one more outing, he could threaten the top two selections.
Race 9.
GREEN JACKET won his last outing over 1350M despite taking a bump in running. He takes the slight step up in distance today, but from gate three, he could find himself back in the winner box. PURE INDULGENCE is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys. She has her peak run here and was staying on well when 2.7L back last time out over 1350M. She should have no issue with the extra distance of today’s contest. CAPEOS faded out of contention late last time out over this distance, but that was in heavy going and he is likely to do better in more favorable underfoot conditions.
Race 10.
This looks to be a tricky race to end off today’s proceedings and some caution is advised. MITTERE returns from a 14 week rest, but he was a comfortable winner of his barrier trial. The gelding has a very wide draw to overcome, but he possesses the early gate speed to move across without using up too much energy. BEATSME is also drawn wide, but he was only beaten a half length last time out over 1100M after taking a bump during the race. He should not be lightly dismissed. CONTEMPTUOUS has his first run after a 34 week break, but did finish third last time out over five furlongs before the rest. In addition, he won his barrier trial to demonstrate his well-being and unlike the top two selections, he is drawn well at gate two. LOTSA SPIRIT has not been far off the action in his last three runs and should be right up there to pick up the pieces should the top three fluff their lines.

A competitive field faces the starter here for the first leg of the Jackpot and the fillies/mares may be able to complete the quartet. MISS AMELIA goes for her hat-trick after winning her last two outings over this trip. She jumps from gate four and should be right up there when they hit the line. HAZEL’S DIARY drew clear to win her last start over five furlongs by a length and although drawn nine out of eleven, she should be involved in the finish. FALLING WATERS finished fifth in her last run over 1175M. The drop in distance, plus having 3kgs taken off her back courtesy of her claiming apprentice, makes her a big runner today. CHAP’S DREAM has consistent form and will also have the 3kgs removed from her allocated weights thanks to her claiming appie.
Race 5.
As with the previous race, the fillies and mares look to be able to dominate the finish, and in this case, secure the trifecta. However, STAR OF TENNESSEE looks to be a standout bet. She won over 900M at the second time of asking, putting nearly five lengths between herself and the balance of the field. She has a wide ten draw to negotiate, but nevertheless, she could prove too strong for the opposition today. ROSIE’S READY has cracked pole position and has her second run after returning from a 33 week break. If she is able to build on that comeback effort, she could trouble the top choice. FABULOUS FRAN finished fourth last time out over six furlongs and from draw three, she looks the best of the balance of the field.
Race 6.
WOULD BE KING won his penultimate outing over 1175M when returning from a 37 week break and then followed that up with a third-place finish over six furlongs. He has his peak run today and from his mid-field draw, he looks to be the value in the race. SMART STYLE is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she finished strongly to end up fifth, 2.2L behind the victor over seven furlongs last time out. She is drawn one outside the former and should make her presence felt in this line-up. SEEL THE DEEL has his first run for his new trainer, but did win his barrier trial to prove this well-being. He has a wide draw of twelve, but if fully settled into his new surroundings, he should be considered for all bets.
Race 7.
MACGYVER’S ME MATE has pulled pole position and has his hat-trick run today. Both of his prior wins have been recorded over seven furlongs, but he fought on well last time out and if showing the same amount of determination here, he may prove difficult to overhaul. GENTLEMAN MAX finished strongly last time out to win over the c&d. He is drawn out at gate twelve, but he should be picking off the frontrunners in the dash down to the line. BRAVADO LASS is a 7yr old mare taking on boys. She finished second in her latest outing over this distance and despite having drawn gate eleven, she should use her early pace to get across without expending too much energy. KAPOVER stayed on well last time out when third over seven furlongs and should be right at home over the extra ground on offer here.
