Race 7
SPACE RIDER showed plenty of toe when winning by 3.2L on debut over 1200M. He would have learnt from that experience and with the natural improvement that can be expected, he could be the one that they all have to beat, jumping from his handy draw four.
Two 2yr old fillies could chase him home, with the slight preference going to MEMO who has cracked pole position and who has had three runs to date, finishing third first time out, second in her penultimate start and was then hampered at the start and raced three wide throughout, before being checked off the heels of another runner at the 800M mark to end up in third place last time out over 1100M, 1.7L behind the winner, so she had her excuses.
LA BELLA BOOM has also only had three starts, but goes for her hat-trick after victories over 1200M and the latest over 1100M by two and a half lengths. She jumped awkwardly in that event, but struck the front at the 150M to win going away. The filly faces a wide draw ten, but the trio is very much on the cards.
Race 8
The day’s value bet, SNITZANOVA is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she completed her hat-trick with victories over 1400M and then twice over 1600M, the latest by just under a half length. She raced three wide without cover in that race, but was still able to kick clear of the field at the 150M pole, before fighting off all the late challengers in the dash down to the wire. She will have to negotiate a wide draw nine, but nevertheless, she will give the males a good run for their money.
STREET CHASE has consistent formlines to his name and followed up his penultimate run victory over 1200M with a second place finish next time out over 1300M, beaten just a head. He sat just behind the leaders that day and then stayed on well over the closing stages. The gelding has his peak run for his new trainer and although drawn wider in gate twelve, he should be right up there when they hit the line.
BOSUSTOW is seldom far off the action, finishing sixth last time out over 1300M, just two lengths back from the winner, this after finishing powerfully from some way back. The colt will have to deal with a wide gate ten, but on that last performance, the extra ground on offer here should be to his liking.
Race 9
MORAVIA has consistent formlines to his credit and battled all the way down to the wire when ending up in second spot last time out over 1300M, just under a half length behind the winner. He gets a wideish gate eight, but he is likely to turn in another honest performance here.
CHARM STONE is a 4yr old filly bumping males, but she overraced in the early stages, was crowded at the 100M mark and then had to be held up at the 400M pole when finishing eighth last time out over 1400M, 5.8L back from the winner. She finished second in a subsequent barrier trial and from a useful draw two and with better luck in running, she could complete the exacta.
REDFORD has won five of his last seven outings, the latest when finishing strongly to record a well timed win by just under a half length over 1300M. The gelding jumps from gate five and will be hoping to chalk up his sixth career victory.
Race 10
BOOM TORQUE is a seven time winner from just twelve starts, so he clearly has some ability. He finished strongly to end up in fourth spot last time out over 1200M, just a length off the winner and should enjoy the extra ground of today’s contest. The gelding is sure to put his pole position to good use and is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card.
HIDDEN WEALTH missed out on his hat-trick after two victories over 1200M when finishing a disappointing twelfth last time out over the same sprint trip, 9.3L adrift of the winner, but it should be noted that he had to be checked at the 150M pole that day.
He on the other hand will have to overcome a wide draw fourteen, but he will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways here. The gelding tried to go from jump to wire in that last contest and is likely to attempt similar frontrunning tactics today.
CIFRADO followed up his penultimate run victory over 1300M with a third place finish next time out over 1400M, one and a half lengths back from the winner. He chased hard all the way down to the wire on that occasion and from his cozy draw four, he should be involved in the finish.
