Race 6.

HUETOR ran on strongly to win a Group 1 event last time out over 2100M by just under half a length and on that effort, he should have no issue with the slightly extra distance today and is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card. He faces a wide draw ten, but given his style of racing, he is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then start to pick off the front runners over the closing stages of the race.

HOPEFUL won his latest outing over ten furlongs by just under half a length. He stayed on well that day suggesting that he should appreciate the extra ground on offer here. He jumps from gate six and will be having his peak run after returning from a 33 week break.

MAXIMAL renews his rivalry with the top choice, having finished second in the race mentioned above, but as the pair meet on exactly the same weight terms and as the latter is drawn out wider in gate fourteen, he may have to settle for the same result.

Race 7.

SHARP ‘N’ SMART followed up his penultimate run victory over a mile with a second place finish next time out over 1500M, just a short-head back from the winner. He produced a powerful finish in that contest, only to be denied victory in the shadow of the post. The colt gets a handy draw five and should enjoy the extra distance of today’s race.

SHEEZA BELTER is a filly taking on the boys, but she raced three wide and hung out over the closing stages last time out, but still managed to win her over the seven furlongs by a length, despite being friendless in the betting markets. She faces a wide draw ten, but she should give the males a good run for their money.

POLITICAL DEBATE is drawn one inside the latter and had his consistency rewarded with a short-head victory last time out over 1500M. That win was full of merit as he was checked at the 1000M mark, but recovered to finish off his race well. He should turn in another honest performance here.

Race 8.

ELEVEN ELEVEN won over this trip three runs back and then battled all the way down to the wire when ending up in third place last time out over 1300M, just a neck behind the winner. He is drawn in gate five and will be having his peak run after returning from a 17 week absence. If showing the same determination today, he looks to be the one to side with here.

APACHE CHASE’S last three runs have yielded a third, a second and a head win last time out over 1300M. He went from jump to wire that day and from his useful draw three, he is likely to adopt similar tactics in this contest.

AYRTON won his penultimate outing over seven furlongs and then disappointed when ending up in eighth spot last time out when stepping up to nine furlongs, 12.8L adrift of the winner, but it should be noted that he pulled hard that day and was also reported to have been lame in his near-fore, so that effort is best ignored. The gelding will have to negotiate draw nineteen, but he should nevertheless be included in all bets.

Race 9.

The day’s value bet, NAJMATY goes for her hat-trick after victories over 1100M and the latest over six furlongs by 0.8L, notwithstanding coming three wide into the home straight. She jumps from gate six and the trio is very much on the cards.

LETZBEGLAM is seldom far off the action and was held up in the home straight before finishing well to end up in fifth spot last time out over six furlongs, just under three and a half lengths behind the winner. From her cozy gate two and with better luck in running, she could emerge as the biggest danger to the top pick.

WRITTEN BEAUTY won her penultimate outing over six furlongs and then finished fifth over the same sprint distance last time out, two lengths off the winner, but she had to be checked at the 150M pole that day and should have finished closer to the victor as a result. She will have to overcome a wide gate fifteen, but she should be doing her best work late.
