Race 4

This looks to be a tricky race to start off the day’s Jackpot with plenty of runners in with a realistic chance of finding the winner’s box, so some caution is suggested.

BILLIETHEFILLIE is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has improved in her last two outings, the latest when fifth over 1300M, 3.2L behind the winner. She tried to go from jump to wire that day and from a wide draw ten, she is likely to attempt similar tactics here.

DIVINE OKAY finished seventh on debut over five furlongs, 14.0L adrift of the winner, but he hung out badly from the turn and was eased out of the race. He returns from a lengthy 34 week spell, but has had the benefit of three barrier trials, finishing second in the latest to showcase his well-being. He faces a wide draw sixteen, but he should not be lightly dismissed.

LATEST NEWS raced three wide, but stayed on well when finishing fifth last time out over 1300M, 3.2L back from the victor. He is drawn one outside the latter, but will be having his peak run after returning from a 20 week break and should be doing his best work late. There is an unraced runner in the field, so keep an eye on the betting markets to get some indication as to whether her connection believe that they can win first time out. Any betting support for her should be respected.

Race 5

A 3yr old and a 4yr old filly could fight out the finish to this race, but VANILLI is given the nod for top spot. She is seldom far off the action, making good late progress to end up in fifth place last time out over six furlongs, just under three lengths behind the winner. She gets a handy draw two as well as having 4kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice and looks the one to side with here.

MIANDELLE has posted two solid last runs, the latest when fourth over 1700M, one length off the winner. She jumped awkwardly that day, but stayed on well over the closing stages. From a wide gate twelve, she should be doing her best work late.

LIFE WELL LIVED had his consistency rewarded with his maiden victory last time out over 1300M by a head. He finished strongly that day and whilst taking on stronger here, he could well be up to the task at hand, jumping from draw seven.

Race 6

The day’s best bet, SAINT OF KATOWICE followed up his penultimate run victory over 1500M with a sixth place finish next time out when stepping up to a mile, nine lengths behind the winner, but that was at a stronger center. He faces a wide gate seventeen out of eighteen, but he is a speedy sort who should be able to work his way across without using up too much energy. Reverting to what appears to be a more suitable trip, he could prove hard to topple in this line-up.

GREAT BUY won over this trip three runs back and then put his disappointing penultimate effort behind him when finishing second last time out over seven furlongs, just under half a length back from the winner. He tried to go from gun to tape that day and from gate nine, he is likely to adopt the same tactics here. HERZEGOVINA is drawn one outside the latter and has finished third in his last two starts, the latest over 1300M, just under a length off the winner. He attracted plenty of betting support that day and the gelding will be looking to make amends here.

Race 7

DALAVIN missed out on his hat-trick when finishing tenth in his latest outing, seven lengths behind the winner, but he did come three wide into the home straight that day and hung in all the wat down the stretch. The form of that race has however stood up well with two runners out of that contest subsequently winning. He will have to overcome a wide gate sixteen, but nevertheless he will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways and is taken to be the value bet on the day’s card. BEAUCHAMP stayed on well when ending up in fourth spot last time out over 1100M, just under four lengths back from the winner. From his kinder draw five, he should be involved in the finish. VASCOTTO is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she won her penultimate start over 1100M and then finished sixth last time out over five furlongs, 2.8L behind the winner. She raced wide throughout that race, so should have finished closer to the victor than she officially did. She gets a wideish gate eight, but should still be included in all bets.
