Race 5

JORDY GIRL is a 4-year-old filly taking on the boys, but she has finished second in two of her last three outings, the latest over seven furlongs, five lengths behind the winner. She tried to go from jump to wire that day and from her handy draw two, she is likely to attempt similar tactics today and is taken to be the value bet on the day’s card.

BOLD TRIUMPH followed up his penultimate run victory over 1300M with a fifth-place finish next time out over 1170M, just under two and a half lengths back from the winner, but she was reported to have not acted in the soft going that day, so that effort is best ignored. He will have to negotiate a wide draw thirteen, but he should use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy and will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways today.

POSITIVE SMILE had his consistency rewarded with a one-and-a-half length victory last time out over 1175, despite hanging out in the home straight. The gelding has his peak run after returning from a 22-week break and although drawn wideish in gate eight, he should not be overlooked.

Race 6

VILLASAURUS won his maiden race last time out over seven furlongs by putting 6.3L between himself and the opposition at the fourth time of asking. He struck the front at the 200M mark that day and the result was never in doubt from that point. He takes on stronger here, but has a useful draw four and will be having his peak run after returning from a 17-week rest and may well be up to the task at hand.
PROPHET’S

ff the action, finishing fourth last time out over six furlongs, just one and a half lengths back from the winner, but it should be noted that she had to be held up approaching the home turn in that event, but delivered a powerful finish from some way back. She jumps from gate seven and should be doing her best work late.

DEEP CORE won over six furlongs three runs back, finished fifth in his penultimate start over 1175M and then finished strongly to end up in third spot in his latest outing over seven furlongs, just one length behind the winner. The gelding faces a wide draw nine, but given his racing style, he is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then start to pick off the front runners over the latter part of the race.

Race 7

BIANCO VILANO jumped awkwardly but stayed on well when finishing Nineth last time out over six furlongs, just under four lengths adrift of the victor, but that was at a stronger centre. On that effort, he should appreciate the extra ground on offer today and despite having to deal with a wide draw ten, he looks to be the one to side with in this lineup.

CANNY HELL goes for his hat-trick after victories over 1117M and the latest over five furlongs by one and a half lengths. He raced up with the pace that day and will be having his peak run after returning from a 21-week rest. The gelding will have to overcome a wide draw seventeen, but he is a speedy sort who should be able to work his way across without using up too much gas.

ASGARDA is a 4-year-old filly taking on boys, but she also has her hat-trick run after wins over seven furlongs and the latest over 1300M by 1.3L when returning from a 12-week rest. She came three wide into the home stretch on that occasion, but still managed to finish off her race well. She, on the other hand, has a cosy draw four and should be included in all bets.

Race 8

Three 4-year-old fillies could fight out the finish to this race and complete the trifecta, but the day’s best bet, SUBLIMINAL is taken to lead the field home. She has finished closer to the winner in each of her last three starts, the latest when third over 1170M, just under one and a half lengths behind the winner. She has a handy gate three and will be having her peak run after returning from a 36 week spell and could prove hard to topple.

DOOGAN’S DESIGN missed out on her hat-trick after victories over 1175M and six furlongs when finishing sixth last time out over six furlongs, just under five lengths back from the winner. She tried to go from gun to tape in that contest and from her wideish draw seven, she is likely to attempt similar frontrunning tactics today.

SHOOTING FOR STARS overraced four wide without cover when finishing fifth last time out over six furlongs, 4.4L off the winner, but she has cracked pole position and with better luck in running, she should be involved in the finish.
