Race 6.

SHARKIM has won two of his last three starts, both over five furlongs, the latest by one and a half lengths, despite hanging out during the entire race. He showed plenty of toe that day to go from jump to wire and from a handy draw two, he looks to be the one to side with here.

MISS SUPER is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys and missed out on her hat-trick after victories over six and five furlongs, when finishing eighth in her last start over five furlongs, just over three and a half lengths behind the winner, but she had to be held up at the 300M mark in that contest, so should have finished closer to the winner than she officially did. The form of that race has been franked and notwithstanding a wide gate ten, she will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways today.

WUDDACUDDASHUDDA on the other hand goes for his hat-trick after two wins over six furlongs, the latest by a length. He raced three wide approaching the home turn that day, but still managed to stay on well over the closing stages. He faces an even wider draw sixteen, but he should use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy and should be included in all bets.

Race 7.

OAK ISLAND is a 5yr old mare taking on males, but she took over the lead at the top of the home straight when winning by 1.8L over seven furlongs on debut. She will have to negotiate draw eleven, but she may well prove to be too good for this line-up.

LAMPKIN LANE had his consistency rewarded with his maiden victory by one length last time out over 1700M. The gelding was some way out of his ground turning for home that day, forcing him to come five wide into the home straight, but he delivered a strong finish to win going away. He is drawn one outside the top choice, but given his style of racing, he is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then start to pick off the front runners over the latter part of the race.

DAEDALUS won over 1300M three runs back and then put his disappointing penultimate effort over seven furlongs behind him when finishing third last time out over a mile, 3.2L off the winner. He hung out all the way down the home stretch that day, so that effort was encouraging. He also gets a wide gate ten, but he should not be lightly dismissed.

Race 8.

The day’s best bet, EASIER SAID is a 5yr old mare taking on males, but she has consistent formlines to her name and followed up her penultimate run victory over 1700M with a fourth place finish next time out over a mile, just under two lengths back from the winner. She raced three wide without cover that day, but still battled all the way down to the wire. She will have to deal with a wide gate nine, but with better luck in running, she could prove hard to topple.

I’MTIMMYZOU made solid improvement to win his maiden race last time out over a mile when putting 2.8L between himself and the opposition. The gelding had to be held up on the home turn, but then mowed down the opposition over the latter stages of the contest. He faces a wide gate eleven, but on the plus side, he will get 1.5kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice.

LETMELETGO is a speedy sort who disappointed last time out when ending up in eighth spot over nine furlongs, 8.2L adrift of the winner, but that was at a stronger center and the form of that race has stood up well with two runners out of that contest subsequently winning. He is drawn one outside the latter, but he should be able to work his way across without using up too much gas.

Race 9.

SHOREBREAK has cracked pole position and stayed on well when finishing fifth last time out over five furlongs, 3.8L behind the winner, suggesting that the extra ground on offer here will be to his liking. That last race was at a stronger center and he will be having his peak run since returning from a 13 week rest and as such, he is taken to be the value bet on the day’s card.

FIRE UP BRUCE tried to go from gun to tape before ending up in second place last time out over seven furlongs, beaten just a head in the shadow of the post. From his useful draw four, he is likely to adopt similar tactics today and may be difficult to reel in over the closing stages.

PRINCESS ZEDDY is a 5yr old mare taking on boys, but she has improved in her last two outings, finishing fifth last time out over seven furlongs, 2.2L behind the winner. She was slow away and then overraced in the early and middle stages that day, but still managed to make good late progress in the dash down to the wire. She faces a wide draw nine, but should still give the males a good run for their money.
