Race 4

CALL DI has only had the two runs to date and showed the expected improvement when finishing third second time out over seven furlongs, just under two lengths behind the winner. She was slow away that day and had to be steadied at the 800M mark, before being held up between the 300M and 200M mark, so that effort was encouraging. She would have come on further with that run under her belt and whilst returning from a 15-week rest, she has had the benefit of two barrier trials. From draw seven, she could be the one to side with here. Although

AVEBURY is recorded as finishing ninth last time out over six furlongs, she was just 3.7L behind the winner, this after being bumped at the start and racing four wide throughout. She was returning from an 18-week break that day. She faces a wide gate nine, but nevertheless, she should be right up there when they hit the line.

SEQUESTERED was slow away and came the widest of them all into the home straight when finishing third on debut over 1100M, just over two and a half lengths back from the victor. She would have learnt from that experience and with the natural improvement that can be expected, she could should be involved in the finish. There is an unraced runner in the field, so keep an eye on the betting markets to get some indication as to whether her connections believe that they can win first time out. Any betting support for her should be respected.

Race 5

GLINT OF SILVER has consistent formlines to his name and raced just behind the leaders when ending up in second place last time out over seven furlongs, 0.8L off the winner. He attracted plenty of betting support that day and from a useful draw four, he will be hoping to make amends today.

EYEQUE had his consistency rewarded with a one-length victory last time out over 1300M at the fourth time of asking and the form of that race has stood up well with two runners out of that contest subsequently winning. The gelding has a useful gate two and will be having his peak run after returning from a 20-week spell.

CASUAL CONNECTION won over a mile three runs back and then finished fifth over the same journey in his penultimate start before ending up in second spot last time out over ten furlongs, just a length behind the winner. He stayed on well that day and the form of that race has been franked. The gelding gets draw five and will have ex-SA jockey Keagan Latham in the irons, so will get all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 6

ISLAND LEGEND finished fourth last time out over 1300M, 1.7L behind the winner, but he raced three wide without cover in that contest, before making good late progress, suggesting that the extra ground on offer here will be to his liking. He will have to negotiate draw nine, but he has his peak run after returning from a 27-week spell and should be doing his best work late. As such, he is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card.

Two 3yr old fillies could chase him home, with the slight preference going to WHISKY WISDOM who finished third on debut over five furlongs and then fourth next time out when stepping up to six furlongs, just one length behind the winner and the form of that race has been franked. She is drawn wider in gate eleven, but nevertheless, she could emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice.

RHIANNON has finished closer to the winner in each of her last three runs, the latest when sixth over seven furlongs, just over two lengths adrift of the victor, but she was bumped at the start and came three wide approaching the home turn that day. From her kinder draw three, she should not be lightly dismissed. As with the first leg of the Jackpot, there are unraced runners in this contest, so the same comment in respect of keeping an eye on the betting moves applies here as well.

Race 7

The day’s value bet, JUMEIRAH BEACH goes for his hat-trick after victories over six furlongs and the latest over seven furlongs by 0.8L. He raced green down the home stretch and hung out over the latter stages and has finished fourth in a subsequent barrier trial. From a useful gate five, the trio is very much on the cards.

JEWELLERY is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she is seldom far off the action, finishing sixth last time out over 1100M, 2.2L back from the winner. She came from a long way back in that contest which did her cause no good at all. She has pulled gate seven and she should keep the top pick honest.

CAPITAL ASSET is drawn one outside the latter and is another who seldom finishes too far off the winner, the latest when seventh over six furlongs, just over three lengths adrift of the winner, when returning from an 18-week break. The gelding was bumped at the start, but recovered quickly to pick up the lead, before being run out of it over the closing stages. On that effort, the drop in trip will be to his liking and he should be included in all bets.
