Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: JE SUIS SILVER(12)
Jockey: Dennis SCHWARZ – Trainer: Tony RIVALLAND

The first selection is the filly JE SUIS SILVER who has posted three fair sprints behind some decent sorts on the grass. She was returning from a long break when tiring after her jockey’s saddle slipped recently but the bay filly should strip fitter now. She will be aided by a 4kgs apprentice claim on her track debut and can improve from her good draw. Her yard had a good winner recently.

Race 2: FLORRICK(1)

Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Candice BASS-ROBINSON

Top jockey Anton Marcus returns to the saddle after a bout of flu and he gets a form entrant to welcome him back. He partners the Cape visitor, FLORRICK, who finished well for 2nd on her local debut over a mile on this track, four weeks ago. She is a limited maiden but with some consistent form, barring the mishap in her penultimate showing the Bass Robinson inmate can build on that last run. She is well drawn here and should prove equally effective over this shorter trip.

TOP BET
Race 3: MARRON(8)
Jockey: Warren KENNEDY – Trainer: Tony RIVALLAND

MARRON had excuses for his poor showing in a feature last season but he deserved the 14-week break and he now returns to maiden company. He had smart form in this class prior to that and was only outrun late by top quality subsequent Grade 2 winner Zodiac Ruler over this c & d in his penultimate effort when casting a shoe. The Horse Chestnut gelding has once again drawn best of all and he should take some beating.

Race 8: NALA(2)
Jockey: Brandon LERENA – Trainer: Johan JANSE VAN VUUREN

The speedy filly NALA made the most of her fortune in getting a run despite being the second reserve runner on her handicap debut over this c & d, earlier this campaign. She wasn’t able to repeat the victory margin of her smashing maiden win prior to that, but she still showed her quality as she fought off some useful types that included VAMPIRELLA (1kg better off). The daughter of Trippi has her niggles so this is her ideal surface and she has lots more to offer here. She will be fitter tonight and is again her conditioner’s only entrant on the card.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 4: TERABYTE(11)
Jockey: Sean VEALE – Trainer: Dennis DRIER

This is another moderate maiden contest but there could be a betting proposition in the form of the Dennis Drier inmate TERABYTE who makes his polytrack debut. The well-related son of Jay Peg was unfancied on his sprint debut on the grass at Scottsville and after being outpaced, he made some very late progress behind a few quality sorts. The runner-up of that event, Cabinda finished 2nd next time out whilst the 3rd placed finisher Amazon King won a good event last Sunday. This bay colt is the full brother to Fly Peg Fly who herself did extremely well on this surface. The three-year-old should relish this extra furlong and he merits healthy respect.
