She returns from a 17-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She has plenty of class and should be the one to beat.

Jockey: C Orffer – Trainer: W A Nel
O‘TENIKWA dead-heated when winning his last start over 1000m on this course. The son of Vercingetorix will love the rise to 1250m. The obvious concern is his wide draw, but Corne Orffer knows him well and he should give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
Race 7: GIMMIE’S COUNTESS (5)
Jockey: S Moodley – Trainer: D Kannemeyer
GIMMIE‘S COUNTESS is better than her last start in the Grade 2 Zulu Kingdom Explorer Golden Slipper as the jockey reported something to be amiss in running. She returns from a 12-week break which would have done her the world of good. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight has plenty of class and with a light mass of 51.5kgs, she should be the one to beat.
Race 9: SURGE OF POWER (12)
Jockey: C Orffer – Trainer: G Ennion
SURGE OF POWER finished 0.75 lengths behind MAURITIUS KESTREL in the Grade 3 Langerman last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The drop to 1250m is no concern and if suited to this course, he can return to winning ways.

Jockey: K Steyn – Trainer: P Botha
BATON ROUGE ran a fair race against stronger over 1800m on this course last time. It must be noted that Call To Unite has come out and won again since. The 4yo gelding takes a drop in class. Jockey Keanen Steyn is likely to use his early gate speed to overcome his awkward draw and the pair may be hard to peg back.
