The daughter of What A Winter would have gained from the experience and will love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the one to beat.

Jockey: B Fayd’Herbe – Trainer: V Marshall
ONE STRIPE ran a creditable race on debut over 1000m on this course, in the Non-Black Type Trippi Stakes. He was green in running, but stayed on nicely at the finish. He found betting support that day which suggests that he was showing good work at home. It must be noted that Roman Agent has come out and won again since. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat.
Race 3: COUNTER ATTACK (1)
Jockey: A Domeyer – Trainer: C Bass-Robinson
COUNTER ATTACK stayed on at the finish over 1200m last time, but found one too good in the form of Champagne Mac. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He should have no issues with the drop to 1000m. The son of Querari is the stable elect with Aldo Domeyer in the saddle and he can shed his maiden tag.
Race 5: COUNTDOWN (1)
Jockey: R Danielson – Trainer: G Kotzen
COUNTDOWN is better than his last start in the Grade 1 L’Ormarins King’s Plate. He over raced in the early stages of the race and understandably did not go on with the effort. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won once and finished second twice from five starts over this C&D. He is the highest rated horse in the race and can return to winning ways.

Race 6: PALO QUEEN (3)
Jockey: R Venniker – Trainer: P Reeves
PALO QUEEN has some good recent form lines to her name. She finished 3.75 lengths behind SILVER SCREEN last time and is 4.5kgs better off at the weights. That should be enough for the tables to be turned. Rachel Venniker is booked to ride and the combination may be hard to peg back.
