Race 5
Three 4yr old fillies look like they will dominate the finish to this race and complete the trifecta, but the firm first choice goes to SKYMIST who has her hat-trick attempt after winning her last two starts over six furlongs after returning from a 30 week break. She steps up in trip and will have to negotiate the widest draw of gate nine, but the manner in which she has dealt with the opposition in those last two victories would suggest that this is very much on the cards. CHANTING returns from a 17 week rest and has had two barrier trials. She had consistent formlines to her name before the break and did win over this distance three runs back. From a handy draw four, she could be the biggest danger to the top choice. SNIPPY FOX won her last outing over six furlongs by just under a length and whilst having gate eight to deal with, on the plus side, she will have 1.5kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice.
Race 6
EMERALDS hit the front at the 100M mark and then proceeded to put over three lengths between herself and the balance of the field to win her last outing over six furlongs. She has a wide draw of eleven, but nevertheless should be right up there when they hit the line. MISS FABULASS has her first run since a 14 week break, but she did win both of her barrier trials to showcase her well-being. She drops in distance from her last start before the rest and could do better as a result. WANDABAA followed up her penultimate run victory over six furlongs with a second place finish over the same trip next time out. She stayed on well that day despite being hampered at the 350M. From her pole position, she should be involved in the finish today.
Race 7
KISS THE BRIDE has solid staying form to his credit and will be going for his hat-trick here after winning his last start over twelve furlongs by half a length. He will have no issue with the drop in distance as he won over nine furlongs in his penultimate outing. He has cracked pole position and is taken to be the value bet on the day’s card. COSTELLO has his second run after a 14 week rest. He missed out on his hat-trick last time out when dropping down to seven furlongs and seems to be far better going over this type of distance. He will have to overcome a wide eleven draw, but he could threaten the top pick. ATTENTION RUN is a 6yr old mare taking on the boys, but she stayed on well before finishing second last time out over nine furlongs, just under a length off the victor. She jumps from gate eight and should keep the males honest.
Race 8
RIFLES had his race won after dashing clear at the 300M mark, eventually putting three lengths between himself and the trailing pack. He has the widest draw of them all at gate thirteen, but will have ex-SA jockey Keagan Latham in the irons so will get all the necessary assistance from the saddle. TORO TORO returns from a 17 week rest, but did win his only barrier trial. He is seldom far off the action, finishing fifth in his last start over seven furlongs, but just two lengths adrift of the winner. From a handy gate two, he looks to be the immediate threat to the top selection. PEARL ROAN is a 5yr old mare taking on males, but she has shown marked improvement in her last two runs, finishing second in the latest, only a neck behind the winner. She attracted plenty of betting support that day and will be hoping to make amends here, jumping for gate three.

Race 5
RED SATIN is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she is seldom far off the winner and finished fourth last time out over 1500m, just over a length behind the winner, despite having to be restrained at the 1200M mark. From her handy draw two, she is taken to be the value bet on today’s program. CHINCHINBILLA had consistent formlines to his name before taking a 13 week rest. He returns here after having had two barrier trials and did win his last start over seven furlongs by one and a half lengths. He is sure to put his pole position to good use here. VAN WINKEL showed good improvement to win his last outing over 1500M by just under a length. He was friendless in the betting markets that day and has hampered in the closing stages of the race, which makes the victory that much more encouraging. He gets to jump from gate three and should be included in all bets.
Race 6
FLYING CRACKERJAK has finished second in his last three runs, the latest over five furlongs, but he was a short head loser of his penultimate start over six furlongs, so the step up in trip should not be an issue. He has gate four and looks to be the one to side with here. DIRTY DIARY has only had the two runs to date, finishing third on debut over six furlongs and then winning at the second time of asking over the same distance. He has his first run for his new trainer and if fully settled into his new surroundings, he should threaten the top choice. BOLD HUNTER made good late progress when improving to finish second in his last outing over five furlongs, just one and a half lengths back from the victor. He has gate eleven out of twelve to negotiate, but should still be involved in the finish today.
Race 7
STUBAI is seldom far off the action and finished fourth last time out over the mile, two lengths behind the winner. He finished strongly that day and the form of that raced has been franked. He has a wideish draw of eight, but nevertheless still looks to be the one to side with here. MR RESETT has shown gradual improvement in his last three runs and although ending up in sixth place in his last outing over this distance, he was only 1.3L behind the winner. From his draw six, he should not be overlooked in this line-up. OKIE took an awkward stride at the 100M mark before recovering to finish sixth in his last start over seven furlongs, three lengths back from the winner. He jumps from gate four and should be right up there in the mix.
Race 8
TRUMP ME won his last start over 1300M by nearly two lengths. He seemed to have a bit in hand that day and a repeat of the effort would see him in the winner’s box once again. He has draw two and looks good enough to complete his double here. NAILED IT NAN is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she goes for her hat-trick today after finishing well to win her last outing by a head over this c&d. She starts from gate five and should give the boys a good run for their money. STRAWBERRY BLONDE is a 5yr old mare who has consistent formlines to her name. She finished third in her latest start over 1100M at this track when returning from a 21 week rest and should not be troubled by the step up in distance as she finished third in her penultimate run over this trip. She has drawn the widest at gate sixteen, but she should be doing her best work late.

Race 1
CLEVER APPROACH finished second in his last start over 1500M, just under a length off the winner when returning from a 30 week rest. He has consistent staying form to his name and from gate four, he looks hard to oppose here. WINNING SUPERSTAR has only had the two starts to date, finishing third last time out over 1500M on the synthetic track, nearly three lengths behind the winner. He steps up in distance here, but if equally effective over the extra ground, he is likely to complete the exacta, despite having a wide draw of ten. EVADER on the other hand has pulled pole position. She is a 5yr old filly taking on the boys, but she stayed on well to end up in third place last time out over a mile. She too steps up in trip, but may well be looking for this greater test of stamina.
Race 6
SUNBURNT is a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she had her consistency rewarded when winning her maiden race last time out over 1100M. She takes on stronger today, but she is drawn in gate three and looks to be the one to side with here. ASTRO CASTRO showed good improvement last time out when attempting to go from jump to wire before finishing fifth in his last outing over six furlongs, one and a half lengths behind the victor. SUMMER LOVER is a 4yr old filly who showed marked improvement to win her last start over six furlongs by one and a half lengths. She took the lead from the start that day and her draw four will assist her if deciding to adopt similar tactics today.
Race 7
READY FOR ACTION has shown gradual improvement in his last three runs, finishing third last time out over six furlongs. He made good late progress that day and from the widest gate of them all at seventeen, he is likely to be dropped out of the race early and should be picking off the frontrunners over the closing stages of the contest. Although PEDDLER is recorded as finishing sixth in his last outing over six furlongs, he was just under two lengths behind the winner. He stayed on well that day and despite having gate eleven, he should make his presence felt in this line-up. RICH AND RARE is a 4yr old filly taking on boys, but she is seldom far off the action and stayed on strongly when finishing eighth last time out over six furlongs, 2.4L back from the winner. She has a kinder gate six and should be involved in the finish today.
Race 8
UNSHACKLED has consistent formlines to his credit and won his last start over five furlongs by a head, despite hanging in the latter stages of the race. He steps up to six furlongs today, but this should not be an issue as he finished in his penultimate outing over that same trip. He has a handy draw five and is taken to be the value bet on today’s card. STAR FINDER was making good late progress to finish fifth last time out over 1100M and on that showing, he should appreciate the extra ground on offer today. His gate two will do him no harm. BEAUTY BETTY is a 4yr old filly taking on males. She was well supported in the betting markets last time out when ending up third over five furlongs, a half length adrift of the winner. She will have to overcome the widest draw of them all at gate eighteen, but given her style of racing, she should be doing her best work late.
Race 9
A 6yr old mare and a younger 3yr old filly could fight out the finish of this race and complete the exacta. ANNEMIEK has posted two solid recent runs and was hampered between the 500M and 300M marks last time out before finishing fourth over six furlongs. She has a wide draw of seventeen to deal with, but with better luck in running today, she should be involved in the finish. MADAM MISCHIEF on the other hand has pulled pole position. She won over 1100M on debut, but was then extremely disappointing second time out over five furlongs and was immediately rested for 22 weeks. She returns here without having the benefit of a barrier trial, so her fitness will have to be taken on trust, but if not too much in need of the run, she could pose a serious threat to the former. WHOWOODATHORT returns from an even longer 24 week break and has also not had a barrier trial. He did however win his last start over six furlongs before the rest and takes a drop in trip here. Although facing a wide fourteen draw, he should be right up there in the dash down to the wire.
