This grey son of Hellvelyn won his penultimate start under Foley when beating TICKS THE BOXES and it is encouraging to see the pair reunited this afternoon. If recapturing the form of that effort then they will be right there at the business end of affairs.
Race 4 No5 ILLETAS
Trainer: A. Mullins – Jockey: LT. Mcateer
This chestnut colt doesn’t meet the strongest of competition and he has the most attractive form of the raced runners. He was only beaten by just under a length on this track last time out and with a 3kgs claiming apprentice aboard, he will be tough to peg back in the closing stages of this contest.
Race 7 No1 NOSTRA CASA
Trainer: DK. Weld – Jockey: AJ. Slattery
This son of Dubawi was only beaten by just over three and a half lengths last time out under this apprentice and it is encouraging that he has kept faith in the ride. He will strip much fitter and represents decent each-way value in this contest.
Race 8 No12 AASLEAGH FAWN
Trainer: G. Cromwell – Jockey: GF. Carroll
This five-year old mare was only beaten by just under three lengths in her comeback effort at Leapordstown and she is drawn best of all. She interestingly won on this track with rider Carroll in September of last year over a similar type of distance and she should go close in the lucky last race.
