Race 4
SHOWMANSHIP completed his hat-trick when winning his last two starts over this c&d. He is a four-time winner from just five runs, all of which have been posted at this venue. He jumps from a mid-field draw and is made the best bet on today’s program. WRINKLY was only beaten a head last time out over a mile and is drawn alongside the former at gate seven. He looks to be the one to complete the exacta here. NOT TO BE MIST finished a neck back last time out when second over six furlongs. He has the widest draw of them all, but he should be doing his best work late.
Race 7
INDIAN PACIFIC won from jump to wire last time out over 1300M. He is looking to complete his hat-trick here and did record a victory over the c&d in his penultimate start, so the drop in trip should not be an issue. His handy draw of two is a plus. LONG BEACH missed out on his hat-trick last time out when stepping up to seven furlongs. He was rested for 17 weeks after that run and returns here after finishing second in his barrier trial. He has a wide draw to overcome, but did win his penultimate start over this distance and should be involved in the finish. DOUBLE BUBBLE is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys and is drawn one inside the latter at gate ten. She was a tad disappointing in her last outing over 1300M but is now back to what appears to be a more suitable six-furlong journey.
Race 8
This looks to be a tricky staying contest, with many of the more fancied runners going over the extra ground for the first time. ARROWSWIFT is however not one of these, as he won last time out over eleven furlongs. Admittingly that was to record his maiden victory, but he drew clear of the field that day, and whilst taking on stronger here, he may be up to the task on hand. UNCLE DICK failed in his bid to record his hat-trick last time out when stepping up to a mile. He attracted plenty of betting support that day and if taking to the greater distance, be should be a big runner here. The same comment about the extra ground applies to NO APOLOGY who showed good improvement when winning his last outing over a mile. EURASIA has cracked pole position and seemed to enjoy going over the 1700M of his last start and could enjoy the greater test of stamina today.
Race 9
This could develop into a boat race between CHANTREA and KAY CEE. The former has won all four of her races to date over a variety of different distances. She steps out to ten furlongs for the first time and takes on her strongest opposition so far, but there is nothing to suggest that she will not stay the extra journey and looks to be a good sort in the making. The latter won’t make things easy for her as she has reeled off three wins on the trot, the latest over a mile. She finished strongly that day and, on that performance, she should relish the extra ground on offer here. CAMBIST won her penultimate outing over eleven furlongs and was narrowly beat in her next start over a mile. She should be right up there to pick up the pieces should the top two selections fluff their lines.
Race 10
SERENITY BAY is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she has consistent formlines to her credit. She won her comeback outing over seven furlongs last time out when returning from a 18-week rest and from draw five, she looks to be the one to side with today. KING BLITZ missed out on his trio of wins last time out when third over the c&d. He is drawn one inside the former and could be the immediate threat to the top choice. FRED DAG finished second in his latest outing over seven furlongs, just under two lengths behind the victor. From his mid-field gate, he should be respected in this field.
