Race 5
BRUTUS MAXIMUS returns from a lengthy 86 weeks off the race track, but has put in two encouraging barrier trials to prove his fitness. He has his first run for his new trainer and if fully settled into the new surroundings, he should be respected in this line-up based on some of his previous form. He gets to start from gate four which is a plus. OHBEEH has shown solid improvement in his last two outings, the latest when finishing third over six furlongs when returning from a 19-week break. He does have a wide draw of nine to overcome, but he should be involved in the finish here. CHIEF ARCHER drops in distance after perhaps not quite seeing our the 1700M of his last run. He has a handy gate three and should be right up there in the dash down to the wire. ZIP ZAM ZOOM has cracked pole position and won his penultimate start over this trip. He drops back to the 1300M from the seven furlongs of his last outing and is likely to do better as a result.
Race 6
PEARLS FROM HEAVEN is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has pulled pole position and has posted two solid last runs over staying distances, the latest when just over a length back over this trip. She is taken to be the best bet on today’s program. COMPLETED won his last outing when stepping up to ten furlongs to record his maiden victory. He takes on stronger here, but he may well be up to the task on hand. The same comment applies to SMART FASCINATOR who also posted her maiden win last time out over a mile. She is a 4yr old filly who finished third in her penultimate start over this 11-furlong journey, so she should have no issue with the extra distance on offer today.
Race 7
DELTA BELLE is a 4yr old filly taking on males. She missed out on completing her hat-trick last time out when dropping down to seven furlongs. She was returning from a lengthy 50-week break that day and now goes back to the c&d over which she recorded her penultimate victory. She jumps from a handy gate two and looks to be the value in the race. BEANIE on the other hand will have to negotiate a wide twelve draw, but he finished strongly in his last start over eleven furlongs and should be picking off the frontrunners in the closing stages of the race. YEAH BRAVO will start from pole position and stayed on well in his last outing when fourth over eleven furlongs, 2.9L off the winner. He should be included in all bets.
Race 8
EXCELLENT DREAM had his consistency rewarded when he put 2.3L between himself and the rest of the opposition to win last time out over this c&d, despite hanging in the closing stages. He jumps from gate two and will have his cause aided by having 3kgs removed from his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. GUNFLINT has also posted consistent form to his name and will have a similar 3kgs removed from his allocated weigh courtesy of his claiming apprentice. He showed plenty of determination to win his last outing over the c&d and although drawn wide at gate thirteen, he looks to be the immediate danger to the top choice. ALCINA is a 4yr old filly taking on boys, but she has finished second in her last two runs over the c&d and will be hoping to go one better today. She has a much kinder draw of gate six and did finish strongly in her latest start. WEAPONSON showed good improvement when recording a second-place finish last time out over this c&d, just 0.3L behind the winner. She is another who gets the services of a 3kg claiming appie.

Race 4
With the late scratching of one of his rivals, the door may have been opened for SOMNUS to chalk up his third career win. He had his consistency rewarded with a last start victory over nine furlongs and should have no issue with the extra ground of today’s contest. He gets to start from gate three and will have 3kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. As such, he is made the best bet on today’s card. LORD GODODDIN is another who will have the 3kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming appie. He is seldom far off the action and finished third last time out over nine furlongs. He is drawn one inside the top choice and could be his biggest danger. MAGIC OVER THE BAY was hampered early in his below-par last effort over a mile, but his two prior runs were solid and he did win three runs back over 2100M. He is drawn wide at gate nine, but he could complete the trifecta here.
Race 5
GHOSTLY has cracked pole position and has finished second in his last two outing, the latest over this trip. His jockey put up 0.5kgs over-weight that day and he will be hoping to go one better here. EXCELTIC has consistent formlines to his name and was a narrow winner of his last start over this trip. He stayed on well for that victory and may well be good enough to complete his double today. ACCELERATO finished fourth in his latest outing over six furlongs, 1.2L behind the winner. He has gate ten to overcome, but on the plus side, he will get 3kgs taken off his back for the services of his claiming apprentice. PEYTON PLACE was only run out of it late when showing good improvement last time out when finishing second, a head behind the victor over 1300M. He is drawn one inside the latter, but will have ex-SA jockey Keagan Latham in the irons, so will get all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
Race 6
PERIGORD missed out on his hat-trick last time out when finishing second over this c&d, that after winning his previous two starts over the same trip. He has a wideish draw of eight, but he will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways here. KOOKABAA has posted two wins from three starts over five furlongs. He is drawn one outside the top pick but will have 3kgs removed from his allocated weight for the engagement of his claiming apprentice. MILITARY ACADEMY is seldom far off the winner and finished second in his last outing over 1300M, just a head behind the victor. He is however draw wideout at gate fourteen which will not make things easy for him. CRIMLET is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she finished second in her latest start over six furlongs and third in her penultimate outing over this trip. She should be included in all bets.
Race 7
TRAVANCORE has put in two solid last efforts over the mile and was just a head back last time out. He is drawn in gate five and will have this cause aided by being in receipt of a 3kg apprentice allowance. He could be the value bet on the day. BENTLEY MAGIC won his last run over seven furlongs when stepping up from a second-place finish in his penultimate start over 1300M. He will also have the 3kg apprentice allowance applied and should be a big threat to the former if enjoying going the extra ground on offer here. BRUTALITY followed up his penultimate win over this c&d with a third-place finish over a mile next time out, just over a length and a half behind the winner. He jumps from gate six and should be respected in this line-up.

Race 5
HALLOWED GIRL is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has pulled pole position and won going away from the opposition last time out over this distance. She looked like she still had plenty in hand that day and could be good enough to follow up here. She is taken to be the best bet on today’s card. GENZAI THE WOLF is drawn one outside the former and posted a win in his penultimate outing over 1300M. He was forced wide in his next start when fourth over seven furlongs, four lengths off the winner. He should be afforded another chance today and could represent the biggest danger to the top choice. Although ENTERPRISE MOSS finished fourth last time out over seven furlongs, he was just 1.2L off the winner. He finished strongly that day suggesting that the step up to a mile should be to his liking. He gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time today and if these have the desired effect, he should be right up there when they hit the line.
Race 6
MITTERE showed plenty of determination to win his last start over five furlongs by a half-length. He jumps from gate seven out of the nine runners, but gets ex-SA jockey Robbie Fradd in the irons and will get all the necessary assistance from the saddle. THE TENOR won his last start over 1100M despite being bumped shortly after the start. He is a speedy sort who may prove difficult to overhaul in the dash down to the wire. His draw three is a plus. JULE’S SPIRIT showed good improvement in his last outing to finish fourth over five furlongs, only 0.4L off the victor. If he is able to confirm that effort today, he should be involved in the finish. I’VE GOTTA NEL was a tad disappointing in his last outing over six furlongs, but has cracked pole position here and drops down to what may prove to be a more suitable five-furlong trip.
Race 7
BUGALUGS goes for his hat-trick today after posting a win over seven furlongs last time out. He did however win his penultimate start over this six-furlong trip by nearly five lengths and the trio of wins is very much on the cards to give Robbie Fradd a quick double. THE WILD ONE is seldom far off the action and although seventh in his last run over 1100M, he was only just over two lengths behind the winner. He jumps from gate three and gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time. If these make him concentrate all the way down to the finishing post, he should be a big runner in this field. DYNAMIC VERSE has drawn pole position and had absolutely no luck in running when finishing fifth last time out over five furlongs. He was bumped and then hampered in that run and should have finished closer to the winner as a result. With a clearer run today, he should be right up there in the firing line.

Race 8
This looks to be a tricky F&M Handicap to end off today’s proceedings and some caution is advised. FOXPACK won her last start over 1100M when returning from a 14-week rest and has a handy draw of two. She steps up to six furlongs today and if she is equally as effective over this trip, she could be good enough to record her double here. WINNING SHOT followed up her penultimate victory over this distance with a second-place finish over the same trip. She likes to race up with the speed in her races and from draw five, she should put in another honest performance today. COPYWRITER has drawn even better in pole position. She has solid form over this six-furlong journey and should ensure that the top two picks know that they have been in a race. ONE FOR BETTY returns from a 21-week rest and has not had the benefit of a barrier trial, so her fitness will have to be taken on trust. She was however carried wide when finishing fifth over seven furlongs in her outing before the break and starting from gate four, she should be included in all bets.
