Race 6
TOP ME UP AGAIN goes for his hat-trick after winning his last start over this c&d despite having to be restrained shortly after the start and being carried wide in the latter stages of the race. He jumps from gate six and the trio of wins is very much on the cards. FASTNET CYCLONE has cracked pole position and has consistent formlines to his name. He stayed on well in his last outing when finishing 1.7L behind the winner over seven furlongs. On that effort, he should have no issue going the extra distance of today’s race. BERING SEA is seldom far off the action and ended up in second spot last time out over the c&d. He did not have the clearest of passages that day and should have finished closer to the winner as a result. He has a wideish draw of nine to overcome, but he should be involved in the finish. FLASH AAH also has his hat-trick run here after winning his last two outings over seven furlongs at this track. He has been a revelation since returning from a lengthy 80-week break and should be included in all bets.
Race 7
SHARPE HUSSLER has pulled pole position and although being recorded as finishing eighth in his last run over six furlongs, he was just 2.2L off the winner. He made good late progress that day and looks to be the value bet on today’s program. FIERY HEIGHTS was a tad disappointing last time out when 3.5L behind the victor over the six furlongs, but he gets 3kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice and could bounce back to his better form as a result. UP TRUMPZ made marked improvement when finishing fourth last time out over this distance, 1.9L behind the winner. If he is able to confirm that effort here, he could threaten the top two selections, jumping from his five draw.
Race 8
This looks to be a tricky contest with plenty of runner in with realistic chances of claiming top honors. ROMAN AUREUS followed up his penultimate run victory over this c&d with a third-place finish over the same distance next time out, only one length adrift of the winner. He jumped awkwardly and took a bump that day, which makes the win that much more encouraging. JAKAMA has posted two solid recent runs, the latest when fourth over 1350M. He has the blinkers removed for today’s run and if this move has the desired effect, he should be right up there when they hit the line. REBEL SALUTE drops back in trip after finishing second over a mile last time out but was a narrow winner over this distance in his penultimate start, so this should not present a problem. He gets 2kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice. REUS was a narrow winner of his last start over a mile and drops down in distance here. He is stuck out wide at draw fourteen, but he should be doing his best work late.
Race 9
With five late scratchings in this race, the door may have opened for WAPITI to claim his fourth career win. He showed lots of determination when winning his last outing over the mile in heavy going and if displaying the same attitude here, he should be hard to topple. He jumps from gate five and retains the services of ex-SA jockey Sean Cormack. He is taken to be the best bet on today’s card. TAVIS TOWN has only had the two runs to date and did win over seven furlongs on debut. He followed that up with a neck defeat over the same distance next time out, so clearly, he has some ability. He starts from gate seven and looks to be the immediate danger to the top pick. GREEN JACKET has his hat-trick run here after posting a narrow win last time out over seven furlongs.  He only got a clear run close to home that day and showed plenty of courage to overhaul the leaders on the line. His gate three will do him no harm.

Race 5
VLADIVOSTOK had his consistency rewarded with a jump to wire victory last time out over seven furlongs. He starts from gate five and may prove difficult to overhaul in the closing stages of the contest. DESERT DREAMER had made steady improvement before winning his latest start over six furlongs by just under a length. He was returning from a 30-week break that day and if reproducing that effort, he should be involved in the finish, despite having to deal with a wide draw of eleven. THE WRANGLER missed out on his hat-trick when stepping up to a mile last time out. He had won his two prior starts over 1300M and seems likely to enjoy going over the shorter trip once again. He has an even wider draw of nineteen to negotiate, but he should use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy. MOUNT ARCHER on the other hand has cracked pole position. He stayed on well in his last outing over 1300M, finishing just 0.7L behind the winner and should be included in all bets.

Race 6
This looks a tricky F&M Handicap and some caution is suggested. CUPID’S BOW is seldom far off the action and ran on strongly in her last outing when finishing just a head back over seven furlongs. She jumps from gate seven and could be the one to be with here. ECHO BOOMER is drawn one outside the former. She has consistent form and although seventh last time out, she was just 1.3L behind the victor. She was however denied a run from the 100M mark that day and should have finished closer to the winner as a result. MILTIDA has only had the two runs to date and was narrowly beaten on debut over six furlongs, but was then victorious next time out over this c&d. She has a handy draw of two and should be respected in this line-up. NORMA STARS won her last start over seven furlongs but faces a wide draw of thirteen, which will make things difficult for her. Nevertheless, she is likely to use her early speed to get across as quickly as she can to negate the disadvantage.

Race 7
With the five late scratchings in the race, CONFUSION might be able to take advantage of the reduced number of contenders to record his second career victory. He now moves into pole position and was making good late progress when finishing second last time out over 1700M. NUMBER ONE STAR is going for his hat-trick today having won his last start over 1500M, but he was victorious in his penultimate outing over the mile, so the step up in distance should not be an issue. With the late scratchings, he will jump from a far handier eleven gate. REFORMIST has finished third in his last two outings over the mile. He likes to race up with the pace in his races and will be aided by having a handy draw of three. He should be right up there in the dash down to the wire.

Race 8
EXPRESS PASS returns from a 22-week rest during which time he was gelded. He has not had the benefit of a barrier trial, but he drops to a lesser center and a repeat of this penultimate effort when finishing well over five furlongs in a far strong field, would make him the one that they all have to beat here. His handy draw of four is a plus. GINGER JONES followed up his penultimate runs victory over this trip with a second-place finish over five furlongs, just a neck back from the winner. He was returning from a 28-week break that day and if he is able to repeat that effort, he would be a big threat to the top choice. DEEP EUPHORIA is a 6yr old mare taking on the boys, but she has made a marked improvement in her last two outings, finishing a half-length back in her latest start over five furlongs. She finished well that day and seem sure to appreciate the extra ground on offer today.

Race 5
LUKE’S CHOICE has finished second in his last two outings, the latest of which was over seven furlongs, but his penultimate run was over this six-furlong journey where he finished just a half-length off the winner. He does have a wide draw of 10 to negotiate, but he should still be right up there when they hit the line. MCEDITH is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she stayed on well in her last outing over 1100M, 1.8L behind the victor, and should enjoy going the extra ground here. GRAND DESIGN is another 4yr old filly. She followed up her penultimate win over this c&d with a sixth-place finish over six furlongs when returning from a 30-week break. She is drawn the widest of them all, but if bouncing back to her form prior to the rest, she should be involved in the finish today.

Race 6
PLETTO is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she has consistent formlines to her credit, the latest being when she finished third over six furlongs, 1.6L behind the winner. She was returning from a lengthy 44 weeks off the race track that day and faulted at the 150M mark. She would have come on with that run under her belt and has drawn gate nine. She looks to be the value in the race. MOET DE VEGA has his first run after a 38-week rest but has finished third in his two barrier trials to prove his fitness. He drops in trip after finishing fourth over seven furlongs before the break and from a handy gate two, he should keep the top choice honest. BLACK DYNAMITE stayed on when ending up in fourth place in his last outing over six furlongs. He draws at gate five and will have 3kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice.

Race 7
CLEO’S AFTERPARTY showed good improvement when finishing fifth last time out over ten furlongs, one and a half-length behind the winner. He was just run out of it in the dying stages of the race and deserves the utmost respect here. QUEEN TAKES KING is a 3yr old filly taking on boys, but she has pulled pole position and won over eleven furlongs in her penultimate start. She then finished a disappointing fourth next time out over the same distance, but she stayed on that day and will be hoping to bounce back to her better form today. DELTA BELLE is a 4yr old filly who has her peak run today after finishing fifth last time out over 2100M. She looked like a possible winner close to home that day. She is unfortunately drawn the widest at gate fourteen, but if held up for slightly longer in the straight, she may be able to overhaul the frontrunning in the latter stages of the race.

Race 8
EXPRESSIONIST won his penultimate start over six furlongs and then finished second in his next outing over the same trip, just a head behind the victor. He attracted plenty of betting support that day and from his handy five draw, he will be looking to make amends today. I AM SPARTACUS finished strongly to end up finishing fifth last time out over six furlongs. He was returning from a 15-week break and given his style of running, his wide-ish draw of nine may not be a big issue. JAG THE JOKER is a 5yr old mare taking on males. She was a tad disappointing last time out over this c&d, but she won over the same c&d three runs back and will certainly put her pole position to good use.
