Race 1: LANZA(7)
Race 2: TROPICAL HIBISCUS(8)
Race 3: BELL JAR(1)
Race 5: SEATTLE GOLD(1)
Race 4: MAN ABOUT TOWN(3)
Jockey: L Burke – Trainer: E Steyn
MAN ABOUT TOWN showed plenty of determination to impressively win his mile contest on handicap debut seven days ago and of course he renews his rivalry with the advanced MAGNIFICENT SEVEN today. The bay son of Gitano Hernando just lasted to beat the latter in the maiden ranks by a short head over this c & d in late February and thanks to 4kgs apprentice claim, he is now 3kgs better off with the Snaith inmate.

Jockey: C Orffer – Trainer: B Crawford
The three-year old filly SHAMROCK WIND crushed her maiden rivals over this c & d on soft ground second time out. Of course she was given a huge merit rating (91) due to her double-digit triumph but that formline was given a boost when the 3rd placed runner Miss Plumcake won a very good event in open company subsequently. The top rating has obvious scope for improvement and though she will be severely tested at the weights on her handicap debut, she could certainly be one worth following.

Race 8: MERKABA(6)
Jockey: R Munger – Trainer: G Kotzen
MERKABA benefitted from the break as she relished the extra furlong when producing an excellent last performance three weeks ago. She finished strongly for a close 2nd over seven furlongs at Durbanville that day despite losing ground and racing wide. The daughter of Sail From Seattle will be fitter now and should enjoy the mile from pole position. Her latest formline should be monitored by the progress of Secret Path who contests today’s second event.

Jockey: A Domeyer – Trainer: W Nel
CROME YELLOW is plagued with problems but the lightly raced four-year old ran to the line in his last start despite returning from a lengthy absence. The Trippi gelding should strip fitter and though the obvious worry is whether he races too soon, he certainly has scope for improvement and his top rider has preferred him to his retained ride, HELLO MANNY.

Race 3: KALAHARI NINJA(10)
Jockey: A Mgudlwa – Trainer: J Snaith
KALAHARI NINJA may be the lesser fancied of the Snaith coupling in this big field but the grey colt can build on his eye-catching debut effort at Durbanville despite losing ground early last month. Of course his stablemate Rip It Up finished 3rd in that event before he beat a smart field seven days ago. This son of Gimmethegreenlight should enjoy the extra furlong.
