Magic Tips Best Bets

TOP BET
Race 1: KASIMIR(5)
Jockey: Bernard FAYD’HERBE  – Trainer: Justin SNAITH

The highly rated KASIMIR was given a short eleven-week break after his three promising efforts in the first half of this year and he would have strengthened up well. He stayed on strongly in a feature over six furlongs last time and the son of Captain Al should take all the beating in this opening maiden event. The likely blistering pace will suit and he should easily cope with the minimum trip.

Race 3: SAMSARA(1)
Jockey: Anthony ANDREWS – Trainer: Greg ENNION

SAMSARA has shown smart ability and should have finished closer but for having to ease at a crucial stage over five furlongs last month. Her inside barrier and the extra furlong will suit her perfectly today and she has strong claims in this contest.

Race 5: SCANDOLA(2)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Candice BASS-ROBINSON

SCANDOLA confirmed her love for soft underfoot conditions as she bounced right back to form with a pleasing last effort over an extra furlong in a decent lineup five weeks ago. The speedy chestnut filly was outrun late into 2nd and she can go one better over today’s minimum distance.

Race 8: SAO PAULO(9)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Candice BASS-ROBINSON

The lightly raced four-year old SAO PAULO has acclimatised well in the ‘Mother City’ and she fought hard when going down narrowly to WANING CRESCENT (0.5kg better off) over seven furlongs in yielding conditions earlier this month. The daughter of Trippi was having her second run after that huge 40-week absence and that soft ground clearly assisted her cause. She was raised two pounds for her exertions but has cracked a very good barrier position and is proven over this extra furlong. She is nicely handicapped to produce another huge performance.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:
Race 7: GOODTIME GAL(1)

Jockey: Greg CHEYNE – Trainer: Mike ROBINSON

An extremely tricky renewal of this Grade 3 contest which features the defending champion HARLEM SHAKE and her recent conqueror SILVAN STAR (1kg better off) and that formline is clearly expected to dominate the outcome. That said, it must be quickly added that GOODTIME GAL and A TIME TO DREAM were having their winter season debuts that day and there is a huge chance of a form reversal this time around despite the form book suggesting otherwise.
