BEERENBERG has shown good improvement in each of his outings to date. He stayed on strongly when third over 1000m on this course last time. The son of Erupt is having his second run after gelding and should strip much fitter. He meets the right field this afternoon and can shed his maiden tag.

Jockey: A Domeyer – Trainer: C Bass-Robinson
CHARLES DICKENS was super-impressive when winning the Listed Somerset 1200m last time. He showed good speed, found another kick and drew clear of the opposition. The well-related son of Trippi looks to have plenty of class. He should have no issues with the 1500m and can keep his unbeaten record intact.

WHOA WHOA WHOA was ultra-impressive when winning her last start over this C&D. She returns from a well-deserved 21-week break which would have done her the world of good. The daughter of Maurice has plenty of class about her and if not in need of the run, she should notch up her fourth career victory.

GEM KING won easier than the margin suggests in the Grade 3 Legal Eagle Stakes last time. The son of Master Of My Fate should have no issues with the rise to 2400m. He has a lot of class about him and can win the Winter Series.

SPEED MACHINE finished 0.4 lengths behind RESONATE last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won three times and finished second once from six starts over this C&D. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and he should go one better here.
