AYR

Race 6 No1 PADDYPLEX (Nap)
Trainer: Keith Dalgleish – Jockey: Joe Fanning

PADDYPLEX knocked on the door before lockdown and has shown in the past he operates well when fresh. Almost all his racing happens at Newcastle, but the last time he competed here he broke his maiden. That was almost three years ago but it remains an important statistic to factor in.

Race 9 No8 EAGLE COURT
Trainer: David O’Meara – Jockey: Danny Tudhope

Easily the least exposed horse in the race, EAGLE COURT posted a 33-1 shocker when short-heading Bint Australia on his return to action at Pontefract last month. The Free Eagle gelding has clearly thrived in the elongated close season and is in the mood to follow-up

BATH

Race 2 CAPTAIN CLARET
Trainer: Eve Johnson Houghton – Jockey: Georgia Dobie

Johnson Houghton has a good record at this course and looks to have the answer to a weakly contested maiden in CAPTAIN CLARET. The Medicean gelding stepped up from a modest debut run to chase home Rideson here last month. He started 80-1 but gave the winner plenty to think about. He should be sharper for that.

Jockeys Ride Horses

Race 6 No2 BRING THE MONEY (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Tom Marquand

BRING THE MONEY
is unfortunate not to have opened his account by now, and plays a massive experience card in this novice stakes. When second over this five furlong trip at Ripon he was inconvenienced by being in the stalls for a long time. The delay caused him to swerve right and almost lose his pilot leaving the stalls, and in the end he went down by just a head to Not On Your Nellie. His latest run at Leicester is best forgotten.er.

Race 7 No2 CRYSTAL PEGASUS
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: William Buick

CRYSTAL PEGASUS, a half-brother to the top class Crystal Ocean, has been competing well over middle distances and now gets a great chance to open his account. The Australia colt strode out purposefully in a solo spin on Long Hill on Saturday and if putting it all in, should prevail.

SOUTHWELL

Race 3 No1 LOUGH HAR (Nap)
Trainer: Fergal O’Brien – Jockey: Paddy Brennan

First time cheek pieces can help LOUGH HAR endorse the promise of his latest run when short-headed by Arthur’s Sixpence at Market Rasen. That form has been boosted by the winner, and should have made the selection spot on to deliver.

Race 4 No7 SALTO CHISCO (Each Way)
Trainer: Harry Whittington – Jockey: Jamie Nield

SALTO CHISCO returns from a lengthy absence in this handicap hurdle, one of two entries made for the gelding here. He’s been a great servant to his trainer and even though he’ll benefit from the run, his sheer consistency can see him get into the money.
