LALA has shown encouraging signs in her recent performances and she finished a creditable 2nd behind a highly talented younger sort over seven furlongs three weeks ago. She is extremely well treated by the weights in this pinnacle contest and she holds a good c & d record. The chestnut mare could end her trainer’s lean spell and the likely decent gallop will play into her hands.

FLIGHT CLUB clearly has issues but she had an outstanding comeback effort after a 40 week rest. The lightly raced four-year old race wide in that all-apprentice affair over this distance at Greyville but she quickened smartly before finishing close-up in a thrilling three-way tussle. She will certain- ly strip fitter today and hardly surprisingly top jockey Marcus has secured the ride.
