YODA’S CHOICE is still a maiden but he finished runner-up in this grade last time. A repeat of that effort should see him finish in the money. YEABOI won his penultimate start over this C&D. He can feature if getting across from the wide draw without using up too much energy.
13.15 – Race 2 | Class 5 – 1200m
Selections: 6/3/9
THE KHAN ran on strongly into third last time. He is nicely drawn in barrier 2 and should be one of the leading contenders. MODEST GENTLEMAN has not finished too far behind the winner in his last two starts. He will just need to find a couple of lengths improvement to win a race of this nature. PATCH OF WATCH is next best.
13.45 – Race 3 | Class 4 – 1650m
Selections: 5/1/9
CHILL KAKA ran on powerfully into second spot last time. The manner in which he finished off his race suggests that he will enjoy the extra distance on offer. THESIS comes in at the top of the weights. He followed up his recent win with a decent third-place finish and merits respect.
14.15 – Race 4 | Class 5 – 1200m
Selections: 10/11/7
CHEER FOR SOUTH’S recent form on the All Weather has been solid. He is a tentative first choice in a competitive Class 5 contest. DIAMOND SOARS was beaten narrowly in his last start and it is encouraging that Ben Thompson keeps faith in the ride. SONIC BOOM must be included in quartets.
14.45 – Race 5 | Class 4 – 1200m
Selections: 4/8/3
PATCH OF TIME was beaten the narrowest of margins on turf last time. He tries the All Weather for the first time and is an interesting runner. LOOKS OUTSTANDING showed promise on debut. He gets the blinkers fitted which may have the desired effect. NATURAL HIGH went from gun to tape last time. He is likely to adopt similar tactics and can go close if getting across from the wide barrier.
15.15 – Race 6 | Class 4– 1650m
Selections: 6/5/3
VIVA CHALEUR finished half a length behind Shangai Style last time. He is still a one-time winner but should be competitive in this type of field. FOREVER FOLKS finished a couple of lengths behind CHARMING STEED last time. The pair meet on similar terms and there shouldn’t be too much separating them in the run down to the line.
15.45 – Race 7 | Class 4 – 1200m
Selections: 2/7/12
FORTUNE WARRIOR has been in good form for the David Eustace stable. He won his penultimate start easily over this C&D and can go close. DAILY TROPHY won his last start defeating GIMME FIVE. He remains in Class 4 and can give another good account of himself. VULCANUS cannot be ignored.
16.15 – Race 8 | Class 3 – 1650m
Selections: 7/14/3
PERFECT TEAM finished 1.5 lengths behind ARIEL last time. He is 5.5kgs better off at the weights and definitely represents good each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. LUCKY TOUCH jumps in class but shoulders a light weight under Karis Teetan. He looks like he is edging closer to another victory.
16.50 – Race 9 | Class 3 – 1200m
Selections: 6/8/2
MASK RIDER finished half a length behind SELF IMPROVEMENT last time. He is 7kgs better off at the weights and Karis Teetan may be able to coax a little bit extra out of him where it matters most. MUST GO’S last start is best ignored as he got caught 3-deep on that occasion. GLORY ELITE should be involved if suited to the All Weather.
