DARCI JOY is nicely weighted in this opening contest with apprentice Wong aboard. He has reached the frame in his last two starts and can give another good account from an inside barrier. NORTHERN BEAST caught the eye on debut when third behind Storm Legend. He should come on nicely with that run under the belt and can challenge the top selection.

10:30 – Race 2 | Class 4 | 1200m (AW)

Selections: 11/7/8

COOL BLUE and COLOURFUL PRINCE finished alongside each other when beaten the narrowest of margins by Smokey Bear. MAGIC SUPREME was beaten just under two lengths by IMPERIAL MAGEE last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights and there shouldn’t be too much separating them in the run down to the line.

11:00 – Race 3 | Group 3 | 1600m

Selections: 3/4/1

BEAUTY ETERNAL is loaded with ability. He has finished in-front of CIRCUIT STELLAR in his last two starts and should prove tough to beat. BEAUTY JOY won this race last year and will be looking to defend his crown. He finished runner-up behind the champ Golden Sixty in his last start and merits healthy respect.

11:35 – Race 4 | Class 4 | 1200m

GREEN N WHITE finished runner-up behind Lucky Encounter in his second start. He still has plenty of scope for improvement and can make his presence felt. DUBLIN STAR was beaten a neck by Pulsar Strider last time. He is reaching peak fitness and should be right there where it matters most.

12:05 – Race 5 | Class 4 | 1400m

The Millard-trained SPEEDY FAY FAY has cracked pole and is in good form. He is nicely handicapped and the booking of Karis Teetan to ride is a big plus. LADY’S CHOICE was beaten just under a length in sticky conditions last time. Zac Purton has picked up the ride and the combination will have plenty of followers.

12:35 – Race 6 | Class 3 | 1200m

Selections: 1/2/8

WINNER METHOD won his last start in good fashion and is nicely weighted with apprentice Chung aboard. All four of his wins have come on this course and can follow up on his recent triumph. FLYING ACE was just under two lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on similar terms and he may have to settle for the same result. HAPPY GOLF was a beaten favourite in the race mentioned above and will be looking to make amends.

13:05 – Race 7 | Group 3 | 1200m

Selections: 1/3/4

LUCKY SWEYNESSE is the course and distance record holder and on form looks tough to beat in The Sha Tin Vase. COURIER WONDER finished 3.2 lengths behind the top selection in a Group 1 last time. He is 6kgs better off at the weights and definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. CORDYCEPS SIX won this race last year with a lightweight and could be one to fill the trifecta spot.

13:40 – Race 8 | Class 2 | 1200m (AW)

YOUTHFUL DEAL has won his last two starts on the All Weather. He rises in class and with a light weight should be up to the task at hand. COMPUTER PATCH finished a couple of lengths behind ADIOS on this track at the end of March. He is 5kgs better off at the weights on that run and can turn the tables.

14:15 – Race 9 | Class 3 | 1400m

Selections: 4/12/2

HOSS has reeled off three wins throughout the season and the only concern is that they have all been recorded at Happy Valley. NOBLE WIN finished right behind CALIFORNIA VOCE in yielding conditions last time. The pair meet on similar terms and there shouldn’t be too much separating them in the run down to the line.

14:50 – Race 10 | Class 3 | 1400m

Selections: 8/6/4

E LEGEND has been narrowly beaten in his last two starts. He is in a good space and should be one of the leading contenders. Top jockey Hugh Bowman has interestingly opted to ride HYPER DRAGON BALL over SOLID IMPACT. He didn’t shape in soft conditions last time and it will be no surprise to see him bounce back to best form in the lucky last!
