DIVINE ODYSSEY is a smart type who was slightly below-par albeit he finished close-up in a feature over shorter on this track last month. The step-up to the mile will suit him perfectly though and he should be highly competitive.

QUEBEC QUEEN didn’t disgrace herself over ten furlongs in the same contest as Empress Valley (runs in race 3) earlier this month but she will prefer this drop to the mile and can quickly regain the form of her promising prior two efforts.

The PE visitor NATIONAL PARK had always shown decent quality and that clearly shone through as he smashed the locals on his Highveld debut at Grade 3 level over seven furlongs earlier this month. He failed in his only attempt over the mile but that was on his seasonal and handicap debut against older rivals and the Gimmethegreenlight gelding appears better equipped to handle this distance now. He faces another smart line-up but clearly looks headed for the top & should be followed with confidence.

The likely solid tempo should make for an exciting spectacle in this low-key handicap over a mile where the sparingly raced four-year old MANHATTAN COCKTAIL is the narrow first selection after his gutsy comeback run following a lengthy 32 week absence. The imported grey unsurprisingly tired late in far stronger company that day and as mentioned earlier the 6th placed entrant Horseplay lifted that formline with an easy subsequent triumph.
