Magic Tips Best Bets
TOP BET
Race 2: MONOPOLIZE(6)
Jockey: G LERENA – Trainer: P PETER
The well-related MONOPOLIZE hit his top stride late when he ran on smartly for 2nd on his debut over this distance last month and the Elusive Fort colt should make natural improvement in this line-up. CHIPOFFTHEOLDBLOK has shown fair progress since his moderate debut and the son of Redoute’s Promise could enjoy being equipped with blinkers today. He is drawn best of all.

Race 5: AERONAUTICAL(1)
Jockey: F HERHOLDT– Trainer: M & A AZZIE
AERONAUTICAL is an above-average gelding with promising form and he has much scope for improvement though his pedigree doesn’t convince that he will handle this mile and a half trip. That said, the manner in which he finished his last nine furlongs contest after racing wide indicates otherwise and the son of Captain Al could take all the beating

AERONAUTICAL(1) |
Race 7: PILLAROFTHEEARTH(3)
Jockey: P STRYDOM – Trainer: R MAGNER
PILLAROFTHEEARTH was given a good ride as he ran on smartly to defeat ALPINE GLACIER by a length over this c & d more than one month ago despite not striding out. He is only 1kg worse off with the runner- up after receiving just the minimum two pound penalty and can certainly follow-up.

Race 8: ROCKY VALLEY(1)
Jockey: R DANIELSON – Trainer: C DAWSON
The former KZN resident ROCKY VALLEY had an excellent last campaign after changing stables and the progressive son of Seventh Rock earned his 11 week rest. He isn’t best weighted on his seasonal debut but clearly drops in class and could still take all the beating over this ideal distance.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:
Race 6: STUNNED(1)
Jockey:G LERENA– Trainer: St John GRAY
STUNNED has a bit to do at the weights but has come nicely to hand since returning from the long rest and should be highly competitive with red-hot jockey Gavin Lerena in the saddle. The above-average three-year old GIFT FOR THE GAP has the pedigree to stay all day and he was gelded a mere four days after his moderate last run on his seasonal debut.
