Race 7: ST JOSEPH(8)
Magic Tips Best Bets
Race 2: SOFII’S MIESQUE(15)
Jockey: S’manga KHUMALO- Trainer: Paul MATCHETT
SOFII’S MIESQUE is well-related and though she drifted in the betting market, she ran on steadily to finish 2nd best behind a heavily supported fellow newcomer over this c & d on debut two weeks ago. She would have come on with that experience and should make natural improvement.
Race 3: HOT AUGUST(6)
Jockey: Weichong MARWING- Trainer: DAVID Nieuwenhuizen
The entire’ HOT AUGUST showed a different side to his game, albeit by default on the standside course two weeks ago. The five-year old was slightly slow into stride but ran on strongly for a close 3rd in a competitive five furlong event. He has no issues with this extended trip and the Var chestnut may have things all his own way if reverting to his natural game this time around.
Race 5: SECRET HARBOUR(1)
Jockey: Gunter WROGEMANN- Trainer: Paul MATCHETT
The galloping chestnut colt
STAY WITH ME appears progressive and he had an eye-catching first run around the turn recently. He raced wide over seven furlongs on this course that day but ran on smartly late and gave every indication that the mile will suit him perfectly. The chestnut colt gets the services of another top jockey and he should take some beating in this line-up.
TOP BET
Race 7: CASCAPEDIA(1)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK
The four-year old filly CASCAPEDIA was fancied when she ran on well to defeat a smart field that included subsequent winners Knysna Rose and Miss Bulsara over seven furlongs on debut at this course in late autumn. She hasn’t raced for 20 weeks since indicating that she may have issues but the imported bay filly clearly has decent potential and she is bred to love this rise in distance. Her conditioner obviously rates her highly and she should be competitive despite conceding chunks of weight to male rivals on her handicap debut.
VALUE BET FOR TODAY:
Race 4: GOLDEN ATTITUDE(7)
Jockey: Chase MAUJEAN- Trainer: Stanley FERREIRA
DAN THE LAD is still improving and appears slightly ahead of the handicapper. The son of Dan De Lago has produced some good recent performances and the seven furlongs seems to be his optimum distance. He meets a competitive line-up but should be heavily involved in the finish.
