NATIONAL STAR has good consistent form lines to her credit. She set the pace against winners and males last time, but lacked a finish in the closing stages. She has finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this distance. She is back in maiden company and against her own sex, she should be hard to peg back.
Race 3: FUTURE PEARL (4)
Jockey: C Habib – Trainer: S Tarry
FUTURE PEARL ran a decent race on debut over 1400m at the Vaal. He showed good speed, but tired in the latter stages. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The son of Futura would have come on from the run. He tries the mile and if ridden with some restraint, he should be the horse to beat.

Jockey: R Danielson – Trainer: R Magner
TEAM GOLD is the best bet on the programme. He was unlucky not to have won his last start as he was carried outwards at the 150m mark by FAST LOVE. He has won once, finished second three times and third once from five starts on this course. He is the best weighted runner in this race and should take a power of beating.

Jockey: C Zackey – Trainer: B Crawford
HALLOWEEN was running on when second over 1600m at the Vaal last time. She finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of Silvano takes a slight drop in class and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

ZAZU showed good signs of a form return in her last start over this C&D. She finished 0.3 lengths behind CAPE BOUQUET that day. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights which is enough for the tables to be turned. Muzi Yeni knows her well and she can return to winning ways.
